Looking at Salzburg’s results in Europe they are nothing spectacular, best result i can see is a 2-2 draw at home to Liverpool.

Theres nothing that suggests he’s out-with our reach apart from the fact he’s in the RedBull franchise

When can Man City U-23 win the league?? Would that tie in with a season tickets renewal? Marsch was a pipe dream. Maresca and Harkin realistic and long term. Could still be on to a winner if structured and resources properly.

    Maresca does excite me..

Would quite clearly have us playing good, attacking football and scoring goals..

Young, progressive coach with attention to detail..

I think it will be him..

Been thinking about it a while now and agree. It's a long term plan/vision. Not someone who is likely to be off to a massive club quickly either.

All his attributes seem to include youths and actual progression in to the first team. If the board are serious and get all the right people they (Mckay, Harkin and Maresca) want in and properly commit to this, then it is a genuinely exciting thought and future.

Just wish the * in charge would announce the plans and end unwanted speculation and clickbait * from the hacks.

    Aye spot on..

We all want us to be back on top quickly but ideally, we want our academy and the pathway being sorted properly as you say. It isn't unrealistic to want or be able to achieve both with the right appointments..

Listening to Snodgrass and he thinks he'll have a few club's wanting him and a very up and coming coach..

His work won't be going unnoticed..

If it is him then it's possibly already verbally agreed with Harkins..

With confirmation that next year's champions yet automatic CL group status its more important than ever we get this right.

Don't get me wrong, I get the excitement with this Maresca but on the other hand we need to make sure we finish next year as champions. Maresca is probably managing the world most sought after youth team in the world. I think it makes it hard to judge his ability as manager, his team will be head and shoulders above anything on his league in terms of quality. He might come in and absolutely wrong. Given what's at stake, I think get the cheque book out, get a proven quality. The group stage will see a return on the investment. That CL group stage money needs to be ours, simple as that

The champions league is obviously important but with the correct set up and scouting, the £30m could easily be made up in player transfers.

Or, it could be made up in Champions League money.

Just think if the manager isn't appointed in the next 6 weeks I think it's a big ask for anyone in that short space of time to get players in and out and getting them playing together as a unit .
We have over a hundred days to champions League qualifiers and if the new manager isn't employed what the * we waiting for and we are wasting valuable time .

Me too. However, he would take us over later than we need it. The manager needs to be in the helm before the qualifiers. Clarke will be too busy.

That Slavia manager should definitely be on the shortlist. I did say this before last night it’s not just because he beat the huns last night :giggle1:

Really good to watch, well drilled and the majority of the players have been brought in cheaply from other Czech clubs so can clearly get the best out of players without spending a fortune which is a big plus point for me considering how many millions we have wasted on players that simply aren’t good enough or don’t get a chance for whatever reason.

    Here the whole time
It's highly unlikely we win the league next year, regardless of who is appointed.

If we do it right, we get the best available candidates for DOF and manager/coach and a complete overhaul of the backroom and scouting depts. Add in the almost complete turnaround in playing staff required and its probably the biggest rebuild in our history. That's not coming good over 1 season. Get it wrong and appoint desmonds pal for Dof and the likes of Roy Keanefor manager, then we slip even further into the mire.

I do agree on Maresca, think he would be a massive gamble. He's working for a club that simply throw the most money at everything, and is, somewhat, unproven.
