Hope these Roy Keane rumours are untrue.

How can the board endure such a disaster under Neil Lennon, and then appoint a Neil Lennon on steroids. Modern day snowflake footballers don't respond to guys like Neil Lennon anymore, whether we like it or not the game has moved on leaps and bounds in the past five years or so.

Roy Keane is a * dinosaur, very few players in the game today would react positively from Keane's management style.

Need to move on and modernise things, get a modern ambitious manager who's huge on professionalism and development of players and creating systems to beat the huns and progress in Europe.

I understand there is a glass ceiling due to finances and our * league, but we should be aiming to get to at least the group stages every year. We let the whole ten thing get in the way of our European endeavors, accepted * performances in European competitions because "* it, it's all about the 10".

10 is gone now so we can re-focus on getting us to become a force again. I can't wait for a new manager and backroom staff to get in and actually have fit footballers again. Professionals who are physically trained and capable to play 90 minutes against * Hungarian teams, not signing strikers in January and it's August and they're still not capable to run about.

Desperate for professionalism to come back to celtic. We've been ran and managed like a * backstreet brothel the past year or so.

Never really heard about Marsch before but most exciting prospect so far for me.

Sounds a bit like Ronnie Deilia on steroids.

Have it on good authority that Lawell personally pushed for Marsch to get his pro licence with the SFA. This was a few months back. No idea if coincidence or not but certainly raises an eyebrow now.

CELTIC helped make Jesse Marsch one of the top-rated coaches in the game.

SunSport can reveal the American prospect was given the personal backing of Hoops’ chief executive Peter Lawwell to get on Uefa’s infuential Pro-Licence course in 2017.

The ambitious former New York Red Bulls boss, now head coach at RB Salzburg, faced political obstacles to enrol with the SFA’s highly-regarded programme for the top qualification.

But it’s understood Lawwell, an executive committee member of the European Club Association, used his influence to help smooth the opening for Marsch.

Now he’s one of the most sought after coaches on the continent.

He acknowledged Scotland’s key role in his development in an interview with The Coaches’ Voice.

Marsch said: “Honestly, it’s not easy for American coaches in Europe. We saw it with Bob Bradley in the UK.

“The first obstacle for American coaches is trying to achieve the Pro-Licence. That’s not so easy to find, you need to find sponsorships.

“I was able to get mine through Scotland, and some relationships I’ve had with some clubs there.

"Then, for me, I’ve worked hard at learning the way European football works.

Red Bull had a relationship with Scotland and specifically Celtic. They sponsored me to be on the course.

“It was difficult and stressful for me because I had to often fly over on a Saturday night directly after our game on a red eye flight, then go straight from the airport to the course.

It would last for eight or nine hours that day.

“I’d get a little bit of sleep that night, and then wake up on the Monday morning and go through the course again on, Tuesday, then fly to New York and coach my team.

I knew Mo Johnston in the MLS. I’ve spoken to him about his experiences at Celtic and Rangers. I heard some incredible stories.

“Then during my time on the course I really got a sense of what an important club Celtic is inside Scotland, what it means to the people of Glasgow.

I’ve been asked a lot about my long-term goals. I’ve learned in this business you have to live in the moment.

“You have to appreciate what you have, and work hard honouring the job you do.”

Was going to post on here this afternoon to say there was absolutely no chance in Marsch coming here given the great setup RB Salzburg have.

Still not saying it’s happening but we sponsored him for his Pro Licence so he owes us big time for that :84:

That and hopefully he wants to be close to his daughter studying in Glasgow as well.

We all know how this ends the only clinging hope I have is that its eerily similar to rodgers being appointed we drips and stands then the picture of him in the flight then the interview at the marathon where he was coy on it but gave enough to make it interesting

Thought exactly the same mate. On the other hand I also read into Keane comments about us as the same. The way he said we will bounce back as all great teams do (then smirked), I felt at the time he felt he had the job and him saying we will bounce back might be some kind hint that he could be confident of that cus he has some sort of say in it. Thankfully it looks like I am wide of the mark with that train of thought

Hoops chiefs apparently are admirers of marsch !! Think there is a whole lot that makes this a goer !! Will it get fans back on side ?Yes , will it show our intent for where we want to take the club ? Yes , will it sell season tickets ? Yes , does he have links with the club ? Yes , is he interested ? Yes ! All this tells me he WILL be a candidate and in the top 3 ! I do believe he will be spoken to at the very least ! Could be lawwells parting gift !

I'd like to think we could be in a conversation with Leipzig and Gladbach.

That should be what we aspire to FFS.
