Frightening how out of touch so many of our ex players are.

I genuinely believe that Dermot Desmond would love to appoint Roy Keane but he's scared of the negative reaction from the fans and more importantly the negative effect it would have on season tickets sales. He tried to get Keane before, the difference is that this time Keane would jump at the chance. Personally although it would be very entertaining (not in a good way) to have Keane as manager it would most likely end in a meltdown with Keane walking out on the club having done little of note.

Keane's got a cushy number on sky sports..hes got the highest ratings, no pressure, loving the limelight.......im thinking why come here given the pressure he'd be under?....I'm praying he thinks that either way.....

If DD is hiring, then he is undermining Dom Mckay already and in a major way. Would Mckay leave a sound job at the SRU, where he's done well and built a good reputation, to be told who to hire and fire. Can't see it myself. Can't see DD going back to Keane after being rejected before either.

If its being done properly, it'll up to Mckay and how he wants to proceed for the next 5-7 years. After brexit and pandemic, we need more from youth and developing what we have. So for that, I think it'll be Enzo and Fergal. Which if we support and resource them properly, could be a an exciting future.

It's all about timing now. Announced after a Derby humping, shouts for it to be announced would be loud. Season tickets sales are massive factor also. If we win on the weekend. Buys the suits a little more time. The wait goes on.

I never realised how poor Gladbachs form has been this year. Rose is going to Dortmund in the summer but their fans are wanting shot of him now. I think Jesse Marsch could end up there or maybe Leipzig

Absolutely - I still don't understand why we dumped Lennon when we did - I honestly thought they had decided to let him see out the season while working to bring someone in (more fool me!). Instead, it looks as if they panicked after the Ross County result, dumped Lennon and started looking only then.

I don't think it will be a "name" like Howe. I wouldn't be unhappy with Fergal and Enzo as long as McKay is involved and there is a plan to build for the future (which will require patience from the fans).

However, the longer it drags on - it gives the new manager/team less time to start making changes for next season and also generates more fear among the fans that it will be Kennedy or someone like Keane.

Even if we win on Sunday, it will only buy them a little more time. I think an awful lot of fans will refrain from renewing Season Tickets and/or buying merchandise from the club (as in my case) until we know who the manager will be.

Supposedly the plan was to let him see out the season. But he took the huff when he was told he wasn't wanted for next season. That was one of rumours anyway

I'd say their level of thinking is replicated in the corridors of power at Parkhead.

It's why we are where we are.

Don't really want Clarke, either Howe or Maresca out of the Candidates linked.

SCOTLAND head coach Steve Clarke has refused to rule himself out of the running for the vacant Celtic manager’s position, saying only that he guarantees to lead his country into the European Championships.

Clarke has declared himself honoured and proud to be the Scotland manager, and says that he would be delighted to go on and take the nation to the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.

But the former Kilmarnock boss qualified that statement by admitting he can’t predict what the future may hold for him, as he declined the opportunity to declare that he doesn’t want the Celtic job.

“I don’t think it’s my job to knock anything on the head because I’m the Scotland manager,” Clarke said.

“I told you on the steps in Serbia after the game and straight to your faces that I’d be here for Euro 2020. I said I would still be the manager of Scotland.

“If you can tell me that I’ll still be the manager of Scotland come December 2022 in Qatar I’ll be delighted with that as well.

“People can speculate all they want but it’s not my job to get involved in speculation. I can’t knock anything on the head.

“Why would anybody say they don’t want anything? Why would I do that? I could be somewhere else in the summer, I don’t know what’s going to happen.

“Did you know this time last year that we were going to be stuck in the house all this time by a pandemic? Nobody knows what’s going to happen so I don’t think it’s fair that you always say I’ve got to knock it on the head. I didn’t start the speculation.

“I’m delighted and proud to be the manager of Scotland.

“Flattery comes because my players have been fantastic, my staff have been fantastic, and we’ve had a little bit of success. Without the success you don’t get the speculation. That’s the way I see it
