I'd probably take Clarke to be honest. He's hardly the most exciting option but he's competent.

I only caught a couple of minutes of him at half time, but like what Maloney said and how he put it across.

It wouldn't be a sexy appointment but Clarke and Maloney would definitely get us organised

I'd be happy with Clarke tbh, but i don't know if he would take the job if offered.

I think a DOF should be some one from the continent, who has been in a similar role before. Likewise for a head coach. Get away from "Celtic people who know the city" and get someone who can impose modern day coaching, set up and fitness to the club. Also brace the analytical side too. A Dutch or German coach. Someone who can work and progress youth as well.

We play far to safe and close to home. I hope Dominic Mckay is more forward thinking.

Any younger managers known for solid defensive organization of their teams?

    * getting a defensive coach when we have to play against 11 men behind the ball every week.

We need a modern manager who’ll play attacking football.

Clarke’s football is absolutely eye bleeding.

A sound defense would have meant our goals conceded tab is more like the Rangers one. Which means the gap probably doesn't exist.

And a good attacking manager would mean teams would have less of the ball and less attacks.

We should be going into every game in Scotland with the intention of absolutely destroying teams.

Less attacks doesn't mean zero. It's a matter of psychology. Even average playmakers will feel more courageous if they know a mean defense has their back covered.

I never said it meant zero.

Average playmakers might feel more courageous but it means absolutely * all if they’re average.

There’s a difference between having a good defence and playing defensive football.

Think it'll be Gordon Strachan with Brooney joining the coaching staff as his assistant or something stupid like that.

Defensive football will be necessary in Europe. But even when we want to play offensively, our players must know how to position themselves in defense, when to press and when not, how to defend set pieces, etc.

It’s not necessary though. If anything recent years have shown that attacking football is necessary for Europe.

A team that can string two passes together under pressure, play out from the back and press teams high up the pitch isn’t going to do anything in Europe.

Having a manager that plays attacking football doesn’t mean they neglect the defence so I don’t know why you keep suggesting that.

I think every attacking manager we've been linked with has been known to have leaky defenses.

Clarke is regarded as a defensive coach because we've only really seen him with Kilmarnock and Scotland, teams where he has had to be well organised and defensive. He's coached at Chelsea so will know how to set up in an attacking way.

I'm sure he could adapt with us domestically whilst being well organised in Europe.

Tbh tho seems a good fit for Scotland and think he'll stick with them.

There's been one manager I know of that coached both club and a NT at the same time, although they were not fron different countries. So, yeah. Clarke won't be happening.:54:
