i would say we wont buy Keane so this team is planned because of this. We should play a 433-451. The wingers should be able to play up front and drop deep if needed. I would keep Fortune and Sammy if we were to play this system.

    .............Boruc..........

    Hinkel Hooiveld NEW NEW

    .....KI/McCourt Brown....

i think the article is meant to be realistic:56::56:

    Boruc
    Hinkel Hooiveld Ramis Wallace
    Maloney Crosas NGuemo Pederson
    Rasmussen/Hooper Fortune

I dont think there will be a huge outlay of money and the players brought in will be purchased through the sales of players like Brown and McGeady

    ......................Fortune.............................

    Easily switched to a 4-4-2, easily a defensive 4-5-1.

    Bench options:
    Ras for Fortune
    Samaras/Ras for Ki (traditional 4-4-2)
    McGinn/McCourt competition for wing

    Signings:
New CM to compete with Brown
    Left-back
Experienced centre-back arguably to allow Rogne to be second choice

Yeah looks good Sammy and Ras could come on for any of the 4 attacking players and they could switch accordingly.

Also somebody to play the makelele role works well in this system

Thats a team full of energy, well except Ki, since we have the laziest South Korean on the planet.

Only spending what say £5 million on Sidwell and £1 million od's on Hooper with Ridwell, Ledley and Pedersen all free transfer.

Steven Caldwell:97: He is possibly the worst defender i have ever seen, especially if we have McManus next to him. The defence is where we need to strengthen and that one looks far worse than our current one

you are right the team needs a revamp and i'd love to see that calibre at the club, it jsut isn' going to happen i'm afraid. We simply don't have the income to make transfers like that.

In my opinion Crosas and NGuemo complement each other and the only time we lookeda team under Mowbray was with these 2 in the middle. NGuemo can do the dirty work and Crosas is good at the more technical side of things, such as passing etc

Yeah, problem with the Makelele role is we don't seem to have a player suited to it. N'guemo is the closest thing physically but he doesn't have the common sense, can't read the game really. Same with Brown although Brown is slightly more attack minded. And Crosas is more a Pirlo deep lying playmaker type than a DM.

Perhaps that's a new signing we might need, especially if N'Guemo does go.

What about Reo-coker. Allowed to leave Villa. Could cost upto £5 million I suppose but he would be worth it not think? or Michael Bradley.

I think Reo-Coker is a good player, very physical and get's about. Apart from the wages problem he seems to be a bit of a * - didn't he grapple with MoN and pin him to the ground?

Celtic stands alone as a business and quite rightly. We would end up like Rangers if he ploughed his money in. He has invested sufficiently over the years. He is a billionaire but thats all assets - it isn't just cash sitting in a bank somewhere

Supposidly aye :56:. If Lenny gets the job I doubt he'll take him on :56: Specially with big Johan backing him up. I think he would do a great job. I agree the wages could be a problem but We've had Gravesen, Donati and N'Guemo trying to fill the Lennon gap and failed. So the amount of money wasted there would cover the cost of Reo-coker. His wages are about £25k according to FM which I know isnt that reliable but it wont be far off. Thats not too high.

I don't think the transfer cost would be the big issue, I think it is paying the wages that causes the downfall in most transfers, I sure he would be looking for 40-50k per week, is the club willing to pay that these days???

I know when we were winning we were paying the going rate, Lennon, Sutton, Balde, Hartson, Lambert, Larsson etc, the club has to start doing this again so we can complete at the highest level like in previous years.

Look at Fulham last night, why can't Celtic be at that level. If Desmond got the finger out and splashed a few quid we could be, after all he is worth €2 billion, so €50 to €75 million would kill him.
