Would have been 1-1 if not for O'Dea he was directly responsible for 2 of the goals and really messed up with the 3rd, also did anyone else see Fortune get clearly fouled in the box and no call

 

Is there any reason rasmussen wasnt playing while people are mentioning strikers?

 

I agree with all the posts on here that Samaras was superb.. but, he still hangs onto the ball too long and ends up losing the ball and should sometimes go for the simple ball instead of the spectacular. I thought Ledley was anonymous for most of that game, I almost wet myself when I saw Du-Ri give Macheda a 10-15 yard headstart and breezed past him like he was standing still, gonna see big things from this guy. If nothing else this performance showed what we all know and that we need desperately a proven striker. I'm overall happy with the performance (not the result) and now a wee bit more positive about the upcoming season. hail Hail the celts are here....

Overall it was a decent game for us especially in the second half. Our best players were Mulgrew Brown Samaras Cha. Dont think i will ever forgive Fortune for not playing in Ki

Scott Brown was yet again rank rotton. I honestly reallly hope this Guy does well but i'm starting to have serious doubts that with him in our team we will win nothing. Hoping Mexican dude will give Brown a licence to push forward, Although saying that when he does push forward his shooting is Seboish lol...
Again i hope he proves me wrong, just dont see it....

I am bemused as to why rasmussen didnt get on lennon has to start with this guy his goals to games ratio is better than fortune and samaras and why was o dea playing i would rather have had hoifeld on?? On a plus point thought ki and du ri looked good

I'm starting to think rasa doesn't do it in training. It was s bounce game anyway, I'm sure he will get a run out in other games.

I'm not one for looking at his goals to games ratio. I think that's more important when he starts games rather than come on as a sub.

 

If only samaras could play like that all the time he did the same last year against moscow yet as the season wore on he lost his way maybe btm was to blame hopefully he comes good , fortune did ok but should hav squared it for ki bawbag..

Agreed but we are all saying we need a proven goalscorer and he is one just dont understand why we he doesnt play when he is what we are needing...

Perhaps he offers nothing more and we are not a team that can have a player like that or maybe he is carrying a knock or will get a chance in another game. I'm sure there is good reason.

 

Even tho we lost i was very impressed..

Brown - 1st half played excellent.
Forrst - Some nice touches nothing world beating but done good for a youngster.
O'Dea - Pish, was at fault for 2 goals.
Fortune - Played well actually a bit greedier than normal must have been told to start shooting instead of passing infront of goal could have played Ki through for a goal.
Samaras - Was that him? Looks like he's got a new lease of life played great.
Mulgrew - Played Great, Some good runs and great crossing also had a great shot on goal.
Ledley - Played good made a good run into the box and got brought down for the Penalty.
Crosas - I'd say he played average.
Cha - Great speed to come back and block Macheda's shot played good in the short time he was on.

Overall the rest had decent performences just pointing out a few highlighted players than did good except O'Dea.

Good run out in my eyes.

 

Good shout jamesy but i wud have to say ki played well when coming on and tried to link with the strikers, could be the new petrov in the making?

my problem with Samaras is when his place as a member of Celtic FC is threatened is when we see the best of him. can we threaten him forever or can he sort out this mentality? think we need another striker and my gran could of told us that we need new centre back(s).

promising comments on Zaluska only strengthens my opinion that we don't need another goalkeeper.
