:50: This looks exactly what I imagined except with Mulgrew in for Van Dijk just because we know what he is about and I like him playing at the back.

    Lustig Van Dijk Mulgrew Matthews

    Brown Ledley

    Stokes Commons Samaras

    Balde

A 4-2-3-1 on paper but Stokes and Sammy would be pushing up high to support Balde, Stokes especially. Ledley and Brown would do the running in the midfield with Commons floating about doing what he does best, creating and scoring goals.

That is if Wanyama and Hooper leave. It's a tough on for me to decide, I would like to fit a few other players in but unfortunately we are only allowed 11 eh:56: I went for Matthews at LB as I have felt for a while that he is very comfortable there and Izzy just isn't the same player anymore for me. He will probably continue to start though and that is fine but if I was able to choose the team I'd have Matthews in there now. Matthews is both dangerous going forward and comfortable in carrying out his defensive duties. Lustig has also really came onto a game the past year or so so it's hard to choose between the two or leave one out for me.
I put Van Dijk starting as considering we have paid around £3m I think we have big plans for him. Tough one to leave out Wilson as he has improved massively over the past year but, I can't leave Mulgrew out. He is both defensively sound and his delivery from set pieces, especially with a proper target man and goalscoring centre half (Van Dijk) now bought, will be crucial. Was hard to leave Kayal out too as I really like him but it had to be Broon and Ledley. If Beram can stay clear of injury and get a regular run in the side then we will soon be saying Wanyama who? IMO. Well, maybe not quite:56: but if he can recapture the form from his first season we are laughing.

Keeping in mind that I believe we still need to sign 3-4 players. Of the players we currently have at our disposal, and making the assumption that Van Dijk signs, I wouldn't mind seeing the following line ups:

    (4-2-3-1)

    Forster

    Lustig
    Van Dijk
    Wilson
    Izaguirre

    Brown
    Wanyama

    Forrest
    Commons
    Samaras

    Hooper

    (4-4-2)

    Forster

    Lustig
    Van Dijk
    Wilson
    Izaguirre

    Brown
    Wanyama
    Ledley
    Commons

    Balde
    Hooper

    (3-4-1-2)

    Forster

    Van Dijk
    Wilson
    Mulgrew

    Matthews
    Brown
    Wanyama
    Izaguirre

    Commons

    Balde
    Hooper

It will be easier to make a judgement come our first qualifying match.

Looking at potential line-ups without Wanyama and Hooper is soul-destroying :54:

    Next Seasons Starting XI

With all the comings (and possibly goings) we have a number of options for next season. Who would you want to see as a regular next year? Rogic, Balde, Van Dijk, McGeouch, Watt, Atajic are all players who didn't get an extended run in the team, should they this year? Who would you drop? Put your preferred lineups below:shamrock:
