    Exactly what I think.

Don't get me wrong Parkhead on a match day is better for having them but they're placing a far greater sense of worth on themselves than what is realistic. They're trying to create the 'us against them' facade that any 'rebel' group needs to thrive.

I would say you are playing semantics. You admit he says it as a politician would, but then refuse to even read the slightest between the lines and draw the obvious conclusions.
His message was very clear to most of us: some Celtic supporters sing songs the FO don't like, these songs are not racist or anything of that sort, we don't approve of them because unlike Rangers we strive to be "whiter than white".
You can now include the quotes from Lawwell which redbhoy was so kind as to remember and include. Those quotes are... of course... directly in line with what Reid said in the interview I quoted.

I can't see why people have it in for the GB. They had a peaceful demo outside the ground as is their right. The told never said anything against people buying, selling or wearing the poppy.
They had a point of view and felt strong enough about it to do something. A lot of people just grumbled and did nothing.
Fair * to the GB for standing up for what they believed in.
    :50:
Nobody can fault them for that.
It was other Celtic fans who made such a big fuss about it that brought the interest of the press.
It would have hardly got a mention otherwise.

That's not the issue though Henke.

They tried to say they were removed from the ground at the Kilmarnock home game and their season tickets ripped up for taking part in the protest the weekend before.

    That is lies.

Depends how cynical you are, and where your delusions lie. Personally, I'd believe my fellow fan over stewards/police/Celtic PLC. As was already covered, it's all about PR for Celtic, and they're hardly going to announce that they've banned some teenagers from the ground because they had a peaceful demo. Stewards constantly target the GB section of Parkhead, kicking people out and confiscating stuff (even tricolours) for not being 'official merchandise'.

Some who weren't GB and not at the protest said the same thing. I don't know much about it only what has been said on here so I can't comment on it.

After the Killie game I won't be trusting a thing that comes from The Green Brigade.

If you think Celtic have released an official statement saying no fans were banned when in fact there were and if you also believe, in this day and age, that it wouldn't be brought into the public domain the next day by the tabloid media then you're deluded.

Fact is, you're always giving the GB a hard time on here, while a lot of the more open-minded posters seem to agree or at least understand their point.

I've had a seat beside the GB the past 2 seasons, I enjoy the atmosphere, colour and everything else they bring to Parkhead.

I'm giving no one a hard time, I'm purely stating a fact that they lied and I find that both hypocritical and downright petty. Until last midweek I never had a bad word to say against them.

Fans were kicked out though (whether or not their season ticket was 'ripped up' I doubt, and haven't heard of either to be fair). Celtic claimed it was to do with being in the wrong seat/having the wrong ticket, but isn't that a coincidence that they check out the GB area after the protest??

    No coincidence whatsoever.

What happened was fans from other parts of the stadium tried to move seats beside the GB to join in with the singing etc... and obviously caused a stewarding dilemma. That is why there were more stewards in that area and also why fans were kicked out.

It had nothing whatsoever to do with protesting, the GB being singled out or an alterior motive to ban those that are against the board. In that respect the GB have lied, the exact thing they accuse John Reid of doing.

I have a lot more in common with my 'fellow fan' than I do John Reid, so yes.

TBH, alot of what the green brigade do i like, but is just me or are they starting to become a bit deluded by their own self-importance.

They're starting to think they're a bigger deal than they actually are.

Great Article and the fans that booed the protest hold as much respomsibility for causing the rift as the GB or the media.

The fans that booed are the majority. The GB are the vast, vast minority.

They'd do well to remember that.

The majority doesnt always make it right, they showed no respect for a peaceful proffesional protest which the GB obviously are going to take offence to.
