This is a nightmare. It's all over the radio:54:

I was looking forward to fans boasting about a 9-0 win as well.

People should be found guilty of committing whatever they committed ok. But outwith that it's just participation of the appeal

This is about wearing poppies on Celtic shirts, nothing more & is getting blown out of proportion imo. So if its about poppies on celtic shirts, i agree but people have the right to wear the poppy, its a personal.

It's not Celtic that make it political. It's the people who are opposed to it. It's simply the participation in the appeal to raise money. The club aren't making some massive massive bold statement by doing this.

In my opinion the Poppy does not symbolise any individual war whither it be legal or not, it simply represents remembering young men and woman that have died putting themselves in harms way for a cause they either believe in or don't believe in. The British government have got themselves into controversial wars for hundreds of years and will probably continue to do so, regrettably it is not the politicians that put there life on the line fighting these conflicts.

Well clearly there is a fundamental difference in the opinions of what the poppy represents between those who agree, and those who disagree with the protests.

There is no doubt that the British government committed atrocities in Ireland, But the vast majority of the "refugees" you talk about were fleeing Ireland because they were starving to death from the potato famine.

the poppy itself is political for the fact in what it stands for! bringing a symbol of rememberance of all british soldiers to celtic is always going to cause problems due to our irish links and celtic have been very stupid in not thinking this through

    * * mate....get with it....there was never any "famine". Even the Irish schools dont teach that myth anymore. The crop failed and the british refused to feed the peasants in Ireland. Genocide. These are the * they want us to remember...well I will...till the day I die.

so what you´re saying is: if celtic board can bring politics to cp than i have the right to demonstrate?

so if you demonstrate and bring more politics to cp than i could demonstrate against your demonstration :50:

so what would you say if 25,000 celtic supporters would wear the poppy next time?

All the ex servicemen on the forums, I really feel embarrassed that I'm part of a club who has a minority of fans that protest against the poppy.

I've now been banned from the Green Brigade forums for expressing an opinion, bit hypocritical of them considering they said try should be allowed "freedom of speech", morons.
