I think Fortune should have been on there too..the way he holds the ball up out wide takes skill...but of course I voted for Aiden

I think McCourt is more skillful, he doesnt wait for a mistake or prime his marker to go past his man like McGeady, he just runs at him and past he goes like he isnt there. Thats exceptional

Too bad he doesnt have the fitness to apply this talent for 90 minutes or the all round game to be a great midfielder.

With our team lacking anything against Dundee United Mowbray decides to put on Cddis in Paddys position with 15 mins to go a right kick in the nuts for him has the ability to change a game with raw skill I was amazed with that substitution on Saturday surely the guy is due a chance although for me Mcgeady has more tricks up his sleeve than him

Any ideas why his fitness is such a problem?

this is a serious point before everyone jumps down my throat

I think McCourt is basically the same as George Best. The evolution of the game now means we rely so much on pace in europe that skill takes a back seat - thats why players like Riquelme - who would be greats in previous eras - can't make it anymore. Everything is about pace. The best players in the world are all super quick - with the exception of maybe Xavi and Iniesta but their vision is unparalelled and they are probably much faster than you think due to who they are playing with making them seem slow. Ronaldo, Torres, Messi even defenders like Evra and Ferdinand are all fast.

So when it comes to the celtic team McGeady and Maloney are going to be first picks on the wings as they can beat the man then ri him down the side with their speed. McCourt could beat a player time and time again but has less chance of escaping the defender and can be surrounded quicker - hence why he appeared t be so bad against arsenal as his thinking was so slow.

The reason I compared him to George Best is that, Best was fast in his day but put him on now - like a 20 year old him obv, and he would not be as fast comparably. So McCourt, even though he has all the skill of Best, cannot make it due to not having the advantage of Best's comparative speed advantage over his peers.

Paddy should have stayed behind over the summer like McGeady did few years back and really work hard on his pace, ut I doubt it has improved that much. The kid could be class but he'll have to screw the nut to fulfill his potential.

    Mcgeady,

Mccourt has flashes of true quality

N'Guemo's close control (while not sprinting) is truly impressive for a big man but once he moves with it he loses a lot of control

the rest are all pretty good but not incredible, Maloney has a strong shot and good acceleration (but average top-end sprint), Mizuno can find some good passes on his day, and McGinn looks to be developing well

    Aiden by a mile

Does some ridiculous things with a football that many midfielders deemed as 'world-class' cant.

McCourt is more skillful with the ball slightly, but I'd have McGeady over him any day of the week.
