[Other] PlayStation 4/PlayStation Orbis

Im the same with the Xbox 360, I played one or two games of fifa on it when it first came out in a friends, which must be 8/9 years ago and haven't played it once since. I had the first xbox and loved it but all my mates had ps3 so had to get that really.

 

I find the Xbox controller so much more comfortable and sturdy, ps3 one feels as though it would snap easily :smiley-laughing002:

Going to wait and see what they are like when we defo now whats what withc each console.

 

I just hope the new PS3 controllers are a bit more resistant to smashing off walls, tables, and generally being broken. * my last one about 2 month back now right after I bought the new fifa! Haven't been able to play it

 

I'd like the PlayStation controller to be a bit bulkier as I have big hands and it feels small to me but then again there's a reason why the design has remained almost the same for 18 years, it's easily the best one out there and if it ain't broke then don't try to fix it.

Sounds like they need to start making rubber encased pads for folk like you

i have not played fifa since about november, cant be done with it anymore, i also tanned a controller off the floor with that game, first time i have ever done anything like that.

was all like " hahahahahah look what i did mother * get it up ye !!!"

then realisation kicked in and i was like "NOOOOOOOOOO ! "

 

Aye, a was playing online a couple months ago and got beat in the last minute or something. A just * it off the wall next to me and the L2 button landed on top of the tele :smiley-laughing002:

ano it was a bit in depth but the point he made about there not being much difference between them this year really stuck out to me.

 

Just realised my Ps3 will be 6 years old this year, definatly got value for money there it still runs like a dream.

It's the fact he gets side tracked on the points he's making and rambles on a bit I found funny.

There never was going to be any big difference unless one of them really made an * of it :smiley-laughing002: The biggest thing was the Xbox graphics card which was rumoured to be some way behind the one Sony were using and the rumour I filed as bullshit the other day which claimed the Orbis was faster (can't remember the figures, it's a page or two back on this thread) I still think Microsoft will struggle a bit without their year head start this time and Sony putting in a more competitive price.

Interesting point the guy made on his Xbox vid that Sony will be making money off every Xbox sold because Blu-Ray is their patented system, that must sting a bit for MS knowing that you'll be selling consoles and filling your main rivals pockets at the same time.

 

20th February Playstation are making a big announcement. Probably will be the PS4..

It's ran it's course, while there's still good games coming out for it and some good ones still in development, the hardware is holding the game developers back. Over two years ago Gran Turismo 5 developers Polyphony Digital were the first devs that I can remember to state that they'd squeezed every last bit of power out the PS3 and just couldn't do any more. That game suffers quite badly from screen tearing so the lack of power is affecting game quality. I really can't wait to see what the new ones do.

 

i had a ps2 then got a 360 i think its great tbh only played the ps3 in shops etc so can't really form an opinion but two of my mates have both one says the xbox is better and the other played xbox then went to the ps3 but came back to xbox as he thought the ps3 was * its all down to what people prefer i don't think there is a superior console but when both are released i'll just get what my mates are getting

 

lots of people will find the xbox better for some games as the architecture of the ps3's innards are completely different to anything else whereas the xbox ( north/south bridge) is what the game developed are used to. so for programming for the ps3 it took developers so long to figure out programming for it and essentially the games are both different and will run different even though the are the same game. also the ps3 has 2 quarter gigs of RAM whereas the xbox has half a GIG of RAM

 

Not to mention some developers initially refused to work with it, most notably Valve Corporation, developers of the Portal series until they done a massive u-turn a few years later.

I've probably said before, one of the biggest factors for me in choosing a console is games and Sony are ahead by a country mile in this department with their exclusives. Gran Turismo, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Killzone, MotorStorm, Resistance, * of War, Twisted Metal and on and on. Totally seals the deal as far as I'm concerned.
