Rivaldo for sure, genuinely pretty embarrassing of us to ask him to come in on a trial. Not at all how we usually do things before or after, always thought it was such an odd and insulting way to try and sign a footballing legend who was still only 32. Would have been the PERFECT pick-me-up for fans as well following the departure of Henrik.

 

Manny Petit, Lilian Thuram

 

Does anybody remember the Riquelme rumours?

 

Steven Fletcher should probably have been signed..although the strike force we have now In Griff/Dembele/Eduoard is best since Sutton/Hartson/Larsson and they're much younger.

 

The thing is, his agent said he was set to sign until MON offered him a trial.

Can't think off my head of many. Actually wanted us to sign Steven Fletcher at the time we were trying. He ended up smashing it for Wolves and someone else in the top flight after. Would've done well here for 2/3 year's..

Seeing how good Arnautovic has been in England. Would've been a brilliant player for us in my opinion if he hadn't rejected coming..

Sure we've been close to signing top top strikers in the past but honestly can't think off my head..

We were going to sign Drogba, but Momo Sylla told him he wouldn't get a game for us.

 

O'Neill's transfers in his last 2 seasons were a total mess. Strachan had an excellent turnover in his first 12 months.

 

Drogba. Think that's who I was looking for. May even be more..

Imagine we signed him. Bullied all of Europe's top defender's at 1 time. Elite striker for a period..

 

Got a Drogba in the making in Moussa.

Rivaldo, Amoroso, Del Piero & David Ginola were 4 players we were heavily linked with in the past i would have loved to have seen in the Hoops.

Still sad we didn't sign Bellamy in the summer of 2005 and instead went for the cheaper option of Zurawski, who was pretty good, but nowhere at the level of Bellamy.

 

Missing out on players like him, Russell, and Andy Robertson (even though we've KT) winds me up even more than MON dicking Rivaldo around and putting him off joining.

Have a feeling John McGinn will be next...
