Goes for the whole Aussie team, to be honest. They just play a totally different style of football.

Even Mooy, he's been excellent but we can't expect him to come back and play like that here, a 6 in our team plays a totally different role with different requirements.

 

Disagree with you here. During the qualification of Australia, Souttar was excellent playing this style when we had weaker opponents. He was a defensive rock not unlike CCV but had no problem playing the ball about. In fact he’s much like a left sided CCV. Those two in the CL would have been immense.

 

He has the talent to step up levels. He’s way better than his brother and i thought he was performing at levels in the championship that were equal or better than CCV was.

Anyway, doesn’t really matter now, he’s out of our price range and most likely going to the premier league in January or the summer at the latest.

 

Can’t disagree that the Aussie team play a different style.

 

Some guys who are out of contract in the summer who we should be taking a look at.

Ben Brereton Diaz. 23 year old striker for Blackburn. Incredible goal scoring stats. Wouldn't be on huge wages, although I know Premier League clubs will be after him. 40 goals and 9 assists for Blackburn in 110 games.

Nicolas Raskin. 21 year old central midfielder for Standard Leige. Would be a good option if we were looking to replace O'Riley in the summer. Looks very similar. 1 goal and 4 assists in 17 games for them this season. He seems to be their main man.

Reiss Nelson. Mentioned him a few times on here for a possible loan deal. Winger from Arsenal. 22 years old. Had a really successful spell in Germany a couple of years ago for Hoffenheim. Played 7 times for Arsenal this year, scoring 2 and assisting 2. Played 32 times for Feyenoord last year where he had an ok season. Scoring 4 goals and assisting 7 times. As I said though, his best period was at Hoffenheim where he played 29 times, scoring 7 and having 1 assist.

Josh Maja. 23 year old Striker for Bordeaux. We were linked with him before he went over there, when he was at Sunderland. 7 goals and 3 assists in 16 games for them this year in Ligue 2. Been his best season so far since leaving Sunderland in 2019, where he scored 16 goals in 29 games for them in half a season. He's had a couple of * loans to Stoke and Fulham over the last 2 years where it's not worked out at all for him. Scored 3 goals in 15 games for Fulham in the Premier League in 2020/21 season and then had an unsuccessful spell at Stoke City in the Championship last year. Played 17 times and scored 2 and assisted 3 in 17 games for them. Might be worth a punt on a free if we managed to get Cho and move on GG as a 3rd choice striker.

Antoine Semenyo. 22 year old striker for Bristol City. Again, we were linked with him under Ange last year. Since 2020/21 season, he has scored 17 goals and assisted 20 in 100 games for Bristol City. He also made 2 appearances at the World Cup for Ghana, twice coming off the bench. He seems to be a full international now, getting in all their squads.

 

Not making the suggestion to go back for him.

Just curious as to how it all turned out for that Souza lad?

 

Been really good by all accounts for Espanyol, doubt he'll be there much longer.

 

Selim Amallah, 26 year old at Standard Liege and Morocco. Might be tough now given their World Cup performance but he would be a perfect fit as one of the attacking CM in Ange’s system. He is tenacious out of possession, good on the ball, scores at about 1 in 3 games, is mobile and over 6ft so offers physicality, lastly he can take a penalty.

His deal at Standard Liege is up in the summer so would be a bosman or small fee in January. Him and Laidouni would really complement McGregor, O’Riley, Hatate, and Mooy/Turnbull. Clear out the other options there.

 

Would be really interested in Ounahi. Been one of the players of the tournament. I suspect he’s going to get a big move in the transfer window but he’s only playing for Angers in France. Could surely be in the mix of him if we wanted another midfielder.

Linked to Barca. He'll be making his club a fortune..

 

Juranovic has been linked to Barca mate. Means * all. It will be the likes of a Fulham/Wolves who will go for him. Baller like.

 

Jordan Larsson not doing well at Schalke apparantly...

 

Stats are a little skewed I think he's played like the equivalent of 3 full games on the Right. From a game I watched he started and didn't even play the whole first half and looked *. There's more to come from him just not at Schalke.

 

Would still love him here. Have seen enough of him to know there's a really good player in him.

Makoto Misuta could be the guy we are looking at. Plays right wing and centre mid. Sam Robson when on the 67 HailHail podcast name dropped him as someone we should be looking at. Said he was "magnificent"...

 

Looks class, and very much an Ange type. Also looks like he could play anywhere across the forward positions (including the 8s).

 

17:45 into the video. Sam rates him very highly he called him his player of the season. Double figures for goals and assists last season. Be interesting if it is Mitsuta we are in for...

 

Someone on KDS said he'd been told his name by a friend who's ITK. Kilo of salt, as usual, but it would be class if true.
