I know. Was hesistant to suggest Homma for that reason the position is covered but I really like the guy and think we should keep tabs on him. Was originally watching a left back from Sagan Tosu who has a great future.

A real longshot but Denayer’s a free agent…..

 

Alou Kuol with a tidy finish in the Australian under 23 team the other night.

 

Great goal but no chance of coming here. He isnt good enough for our first team plus he is already at a big german club

 

Not seen much but he definitely received lots of positive media attention. Seems like Porto wants him.

 

Umaro Embalo..

21. Doesn't look like it'll be happening for him at Benfica first team level..

Rapid. Can play left or right and can finish with either, although predominantly left footed..

Feel like we've gone a bit Benfica happy due to Jota but for good reason. Quite probably the best youth side about at the minute with a track record of producing a conveyor belt of quality..

 

Very good suggestion actually. He prefers to play in the right and cut inside (just like Jota in the opposite wing). Got his career stalled due to his greedy agent. I still think that he can be quite good and should do the pre-season with us. He is reaching a Jota-type of situation. In Umaro's case the problem is clearly the agent who tried to promote him and get a nice agent fee when he was still a teenager.

Úmaro got the most assists (12) in Portuguese second division this season. Played for Benfica B. You can see him here against Porto B: .

Either he gets promoted to Benfica's first team (deserves it IMO) or needs to play elsewhere. The Portuguese second division is not challenging enough for his stage of development. Celtic would be a good option.

It's also the one thing I think we're missing on the wing. We have Jota to drift inside on the left and have some out and out wingers....but really feel we could do with a left footed right winger to do the same on the other side..

Ange may go for someone more high profile though but I like the look of this boy. Can see us trying another couple of loan to buys if we get Jota and Carter-Vickers over the line..

 

Back in 2017-2019 he was a superstar (for his class age, that is). Leipzig offered 20M€ upfront + 5M€ bonus when he was 16y. The deal fell because Úmaro's agent made extra last minute demands for himself.

 

Jakub Kadak, 21 years old, captain of AS Trencin in the Slovakian top league.

Played 32 games this season, 15 goals and 8 assists. Would cost relatively little, and takes a corner with both left and right peg. A two footed Slovakian attacking midfielder you say



Doubt he’d even cost a million, I’d like to see us branch out to guys like this more, similar to what we did with Abada.

 

Valmir Veliu is another one but apparently been linked to Trabzbonspor, left or right wing, just turned 22.

39 games this year, 11 goals and 16 assists.

Not playing at the highest level but I wouldn’t mind getting guys like him in really cheap, send him on loan to an SPFL side for a year after a pre-season with us (or straight in if they’re good enough) and see if they can adapt.



All in all at his age, 120 games 23 goals and 32 assists. I know it’s not at a high level but that can be built on I think. 20 bookings as well, so the guys got a bit of bite.

 

Another guy, Sebastian Jörgensen. Right wing mainly, 21 years old. This season in the top Danish division scored 9 in 22, 7 assists.

From a country producing some fantastic talent.

Perfect for that left footed right winger I want us to sign..

 

Kinda guys worth taking a punt on mate, don’t expect them to come in with a big impact right away but build on what’s there and supplement the squad so proper money can be spent on guys like Jota.

Then who knows, you may just get an Abada while you’re doing that.

Is he really?

Is this the knock on effect of covid impacting revenues, this seasons just feels like there more quality then is usual available on a free

 

Might be down to Lyon finishing 8th, with one of their best players sold to Newcastle, Moussa apparently leaving and a few other players apparently wanting away… can see them needing a major rebuild.

 

He might be too pricey for us but would love to get Gerzino Nyamsi from Strasbourg in, big tank of a rapid CB. Quite classy on the ball. Him and CCV would be unreal together
