John Obi Mikel wants a word. Chelsea paid about £17m for him. Botheim is probably in the Eliteserien top five most valuable transfer though. Think he'd thrive in our team.

 

As it turns out they paid Lyn £4m and Man Utd £12m, despite never having kicked a ball for Utd. Madness.

Not saying I wouldn’t take Botheim on a free but a lot of people close to Norwegian football felt the Russians massively overpaid for him and it was more being in the Bodo Glimt system than his ability that got him that move.

As I said at the start would take him on a free. There’s a lot of good Norwegian league talent at the moment.

Bodo/Glimt - have Sampsted, Solbakken and Vetelssen;
Stromgodset - have Johan Hove
Molde - have Sivert Mannsverk
Viking - have Sebulonsen

Theres also former Start IK CB Jesper Daland paying at Cercle Brugge who is a good progressive CB.

 

I wonder if Bakayoko would be attainable to us on a Loan to Buy? On loan at Milan this season from Chelsea but didn't play much. His stock will be pretty low.

On form, I think he'd be perfect for us.

 

Not a chance id Id imagine. his wages alone would rule us out. We would struggle to pay half of them and they would want most, if not all of them covered.

 

Scott mckenna has apparently been immense for Nottingham forrest this season. Starting for them today and has made the scotland team.
A lot of our fans turned our noses up, but i think he would have taken his game to a new level surrounded by better players.

 

Wouldn't want McKenna anywhere near Celtic Park unless he's in an opposition jersey.

Championship prices way too inflated though so no chance we’ll sign anyone from there unless their contract is running out.

 

Iv always thought we should have moved for McKenna. I think we should always try and secure the best talent in scotland and i think he would have been a solid centre back for us. Think Aberdeens valuation might have been too much for us at the time but in fairness to them they held out and got what they wanted.

 

Also thought we should have moved for Souttar when he was available on a free. I rate them both. Hard to compare but both have had strong seasons in their own right. Iv seen worse centre backs playing for celtic than both Souttar and Mckenna. Both could be the scotland pairing going forward.

 

Could have been a good time for us to go for Jordan Larsson with all thats going on with Russia but dont see it now with Jota potentially/imminently happening.

 

Couple of goalkeepers.

Mads Christiansen - Good shot stopper, seems decent with the ball at his feet though Lillestrom play it long so difficult to properly gauge. Norwegian U-21's keeper so young enough to fit our player trading model and experienced enough at club level that I would be confident with him stepping in for Hart. Does stay on his line quite a bit though.



Jacob Karlstrom - impressed watching him play out from the back, very comfortable as a sweeper keeper and comes out for crosses. Unfortunately just signed for Molde but would have been good competition for Hart. Did have a diddy moment in game I watched

Can't believe he's still technically a Chelsea player.

We could maybe get a loan but doubt there would ever be an option to buy...* would probably still demand about £12million for him never mind his actual wage
