Transfermarkt says his Man Utd deal runs out in June.

I'd probably take a gamble on him for free.

 

I hope we dip back into the Dutch league outside Ajax, Psv & Feyenoord the players seem to go for reasonable fees plus they seem to adapt well to our game.

Openda from Vitesse on loan from Brugge is second in the scoring charts be a cracking replacement for Ajeti leaving if he was around the £5-6m mark, I know someone may tell me he's been linked with big money moves elsewhere but guys of that ilk would be great for us i still can't believe the fee we paid for GG top scorer the year before.

 

No way are we paying 5m for a striker to sit behind kyogo, giakoumakis and possibly kenny ffs.

Kenny ? He was signed for the B team ffs! This boy was 2nd top scorer in the eredivisie ffs. You ever heard of competition for places? We have about 10 first team quality central midfielders for 3 places in the team why would you not have 3 first team quality strikers for 1/2 places in the side

 

There's a balance to be had,

Yes it would be great to have, but then you have to consider the impact on squad harmony, but we ahve more important areas to improve on before we do for a 3rd striker option. There's an argument that Ajeti was a 5 million signing but he was only overlooked as he has not worked out in the squad sadly.

If we did get a quality 3rd option like taht though I'd not be sad, but a smarter option would be a player that can play across the front 3 in our system to fill that 3rd choice role/ push on for the striker role

 

We play 3 midfielders, we only play one striker.

 

Kenny as side, we are not spending 5 million on a third choice forward.

That money can go to another position like left back which is needed more IMO.

 

Erik Botheim was just released on a free from Krasnodar. 22 yo CF from Norway, powerful and fast.

I doubt we signed Kenny JUST to play in the B squad to be fair.

you want 2 for every position, with potentially 3 for a position like lone ST. Kyogo, Giakoumakis and A/Nother (Kenny?) would suffice. We aren't gonna sign another £5million plus striker to play 3rd choice.

 

Maeda is probably the 3rd option there.

 

Actually, yeah!

Maeda, Abada, Kenny can all do varying levels of filling in if both Kyogo and Giakoumakis are out.
No chance we spend multiple millions on another striker just now.

A project may come in and take the manager and us by surprise, but we aren't signing someone to step straight in to the side.
Not when key positions elsewhere are needed.

 

Maeda is a grafter but he’s never a striker in a million years

 

He’s a decent 3rd choice option for a position we play 1 guy in. I wouldn’t mind a young guy who can come in and out as needed as well, but strikers pretty low down on the list.

 

Signing him on a free would be good business for us. He was an important part of last years B/G team and sold for €5m to Krasnodar in this years winter window. Was released on a free today.

Doubt he'll accept being third choice up front though.

 

He'd be some signing. Would also give us the ability to go two up top at times with Giakoumakis/Botheim being a focal point for Kyogo to play off. Or just give Kyogo/Jota a free role with Abada/Maeda supplying the width.

 

Watched some clips of Ola Brynhildsen other day mate, what'd you make of him?

Looks like he could go to a higher level and looks versatile and very positive..
