4 Ajax players sent to their B team and told to find a move.

Borna Sosa and Owen Wijndal - two left backs already mentioned.

Another is Benjamin Tahirovic - 6 foot 2 CDM. Seems to have been quite highly rated. Ajax signed him from Roma for £8m last season and Mourinho was very positive about him.

 

Should be all over Wijndal if he's available. Ajax are a mess of a club currently so I'd have no worries with him recapturing his form under us.

That Marko Grujic dosent seem to be getting much of a look in at Porto pretty experienced player and I think he's more of a DM nowadays

 

Leeds linked with Ao Tanaka for supposedly £2m - sort of deal we should be looking at if Hatate/O'Riley move on.

 

Aye that would be a good move, but I'd bet Leeds will pay more to him sadly

Not sure if we really are married to sinisalo taking over or not, but I just watched this guy play and was intrigued. He had like 5 or 6 moments where he was playing super far out of his box as a sweeper covering for his cbs and mopping up potential attacks. Can't say I know much about him besides that he plays for one of the best Mexican sides ATM. Found this video on YouTube for those that might be interested.

Patrick Berg, centre mid who we once missed out on, is back at Bodø/Gilmt and in great form.

 

Few players who were out on loan last season from the bigger clubs in Portugal, who we could probably pick up on loans with options to buy.

Andreas Schjelderup

20 year old left winger who is contracted to Benfica but spent last season on loan at FC Nordsjaelland. He played 39 times last season, scoring 10 goals and providing 11 assists. At 20 years old, he has so much potential and his career stats to date are very impressive, playing over 100 games for Nordjaelland and Benfica/Benfica B. In that time, he has managed 28 goals and 16 assists. Benfica did pay over £8m to sign him originally but he's not quite made the grade over there. Could be one we get a loan with an option.

Casper Tengstedt

One we were linked with before he signed for Benfica, he signed with them for about £6m after an incredible 6 months in Norway with Rosenborg. 24 years old, so he's still young enough to get the best out of but he will be coming into his prime years and may want to look for first team football to keep himself in possible contention for a Danish call up that he has not received yet. Benfica have just signed Pavlidis from AZ for about £16m and they also have other players in front of Tengstedt, like Cabral and Leonardo. His scoring record is still decent for Benfica, even though he never played much last year, he played 31 times for them last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 7 assists. Not bad for a bit part player. He played 19 times for FC Hosens, in the Danish 1st division scoring 14 goals and providing 5 assists before getting a loan with Rosenborg in the 2nd part of that year, where he won his move to Benfica with a ridiculous 15 goals and 9 assists in just 14 games. 24 goal contributions in just 15 games. Will be out of favour and definitely someone we should look at.

Tiago Gouveia

Another from the Benfica conveyer belt and another who may look to get out on loan and get some minutes. Fast, tricky right winger who spent the 23/24 season as part of the main Benfica squad. Didn't work out all that well for him, although he still managed to contribute on the pitch when he got the chance. Played 26 times for Benfica last season, including 3 appearances in the Champions League and managed to contribute with 4 goals and 3 assists in just 775 minutes of football. Again, another one where Benfica have spent money to strengthen in his position, bringing in Benjamin Rollheiser for just over £8m. Gouveia did go out on loan to Estoril in the 22/23 season and performed pretty well for a midtable/bottom club, playing 30 times for them over the course of that season, scoring 5 times and assisting 5 times. At 23 years old, now is the time to be getting out and playing regular football and we may be able to keep that relationship with Benfica sweet.

David Carmo

25 year old centre back, who plays for FC Porto. Was signed from Braga for around £18m in July 2022 but has not managed to nail down a starting position in their first team. Didn't manage to make the grade for them in the first half of last year and ended out on loan to Olympiacos from January, where he started nearly every game for them, including the Conference League final, where they defended incredibly well against an attacking Fiorentina side and went onto win the trophy in Extra Time. Carmo was excellent that night. Olympiacos did have an option to buy built into the loan, which was rumoured to be around £10m but they failed to exercise their option and he has ended up back at Porto. Another one we could possibly get in a Loan w/option. He's also left footed, meaning he could become a really strong partner for CCV in that starting CB role for us.

Fran Navarro

Another one from FC Porto. Signed by Porto for just under £6m in July 2023, he was signed off the back of an excellent couple of seasons with Gil Vicente, where he played 78 times and scored 37 goals and provided 3 assists. He was put out on loan by Porto, like Carmo above, to Olympiacos in January and played 18 times for them, scoring 5 goals and providing 1 assist. Just turned 26, so he's coming into his prime years and will want first team football. As has been mentioned with the rest, another one we could sign on loan w/option.

 

Not one for this window of course, but we should be keeping a close eye on Gerald Taylor from Hearts.

Some very good players, David Carmo is a * of a shout. Him and CCV would be a cracking centre back pairing. If he was within our reach we should go all out to get him.

Gouveia could be another Jota and Schjeldrup is a massive talent but that would be a straight loan.

Adam Nagalo from Nordsjaelland is someone I thought would have moved on from them by now at Centre back, he would be another cracking CCV partner.

A player I am surprised we haven’t looked at is Yvan Dibango, he is playing in Ukraine for the third place team behind Dynamo Kiev and Shaktar D. On the fringes of Cameroon national team and is everything we need in a left back, 6ft, strong, quick a good defender and capable of contributing in the final third. He perfectly fits the scouting profile too of early 20’s, international, would take the wages on offer and the fee would be likely £2-3m.

 

If there is any chance they can afford Morgan Whittaker from Plymouth we should be all over trying to get him in. A versatile goalscoring winger with pace and size, who can also act as a third choice striker.

 

We could use the Japanese colony as a carrot. Ao Tanaka has always been fantastic for JNT when I saw him.
