Why would Leicester agree to loan him out and let him leave for * all? They'll be able to sell him for multi millions. He's out of our reach.

 

…as a cheaper alternative, Daniel Amartey’s contract at Leicester is up at the end of the month. Versatile DM/CM who has also played CB and RB for them.

 

Why do clubs ever let that happen with decent players they’d rather keep? Player and agent pressure. It is a bit of an ambitious one, but could be done if Rodgers could sell the player on how much he’d be loved here, etc.

Anyway, as I say above, Amartey’s a similar player who’s also worked under Rodgers, is likely to be paid a lot less than Ndidi, and is available on a free at the end of the month. Still a good age at 28.

 

I don't think any team really does that with players they want to keep. Or at least, I don't think I've seen any circumstances of that happening.

Ndidi will leave Leicester but he will leave for a fee and probably to the EPL. Depending on what that fee is? I'd like us to ask the question. Why not. I don't think it's possible, even with a year left on his deal but he's a * baller and knows Rodgers.

Stranger things have happened. It definitely won't be a loan though. He will either stay at Leicester for a year and leave on a free or go permanently.

Would it be wild to suggest Andre Blake? 3 x MLS keeper of the year and won it last season despite being 32, Jamaica no.1 (aye I know it's just Jamaica) and he's massively rated over there. Philadelphia fans talk about him like we did with Forster. Can also save a penalty...

Looks a very good shot stopper though i'm not sure how he is with the ball at his feet but I don't think there will be as much emphasis on that under Rodgers.

Same reason any club let's players contracts run down, you contact for a set period to get that play out of them or give bargaining power, you don't give it out too long I case they aren't up to it and you'd be over spending (see giving James McCarthy a 4 year deal for reference) or even that famous one that got a 4 year deal at Chelsea and was terrible bit was on far more pay than he'd get anywhere else so just sat it out and diligently showed up to training etc.

If they're doing well you then want to extend its up to them to agree, they might see a chance at a bigger payday for themselves as waiting it out and being a free agent where you're likely to get a bigger sign on fee etc due to no transfer fees. It's also about budgets etc and being viable, look at Scottish clubs, it's usually 1 or 2 year deals at a time as that gets you your squad and keeps risk low incase they get injured badly or are not a good fit. Aye it's * when you lose players for free that would otherwise would have generated a decent fee but it de-risks things too in terms of continuing to pay.

Ehh, don't think he fits us, yes not really a striker anymore, not a winger, he's a second striker type now really, we don't have that, he wouldn't fit in our starting lineup so I'd say no.

 

Based on last few Scotland performances we should 100% be looking at him. He's been best player on park tonight
