Im 99% sure he refered to himself as a Catholic Irish boy or something on that show on CNN once either when talking to Rod Stewart or to that Woman American comedian.

 

Infact he is definetly Irish, he refers to himself as Irish and both his parents were Irish even though he was brought up in England. Even replied to someone on twitter "Im Irish" when somone said he should have been supporting the english team against Barcelona
