I don't like or trust the guy anymore. Have about as much faith in him as i do any politician or person in power.

In all seriousness, did someone finger you at a drunken house party or something? :97:

    You seem very tightly-wound recently.......

As we used to say about DM on the other side. "It's all smoke and mirrors".

The fact is he should have spent money prior to the CL qualifiers. If he had and we got through we wouldn't have this thread but we'd still be getting misinformed.

It's all a case of diverting your attention elsewhere while your pocket is being picked. Have you seen the size of a Mars Bar lately? It's ridiculous! :56:

& that's exactly what he is so it's to be expected.

The next one in charge will be the same or worse.

At least he's a fan of Celtic so will have the interests of the club at heart
even if he doesn't seem to.

What genuine appeal could he raise against this flag fine
unless "On the grounds that they are hypocritical eejits"
    as cbd said earlier:icon_mrgreen:

Lawell take his remit from the board. If the board tell him to spend £50m, he'll spend it. It's also his job to divert scrutiny from the board and shoulder the blame.

Better with the CEO we know!

In Peter I trust! I have been listening to all of the negative comments that have been on social media. Pathetic! We have got someone on our team that has the financial know all to take care of our finances.

Between Lawell's interview and the latest signings I'm actually a cautious supporter of what he's doing. Is he perfect? No. Could he have done better? Yes. But I think he's being honest when he says that the club's well being is his first priority. We don't know the intricacies of finances in a post-Rangers SPL and we don't know how hard it probably is to get players to come to such a diddy league and within the wage structure. All things considered I think he could have done a much, much worse job. Just look at the dead club.

He said we would have "significant investment" in the summer.

He said "We have money in the bank but there is no point in keeping it there".

He said "We are in the best financial health we have ever been in".

6 months later after ST money has been collected we have spent * all net and he is going on about the financial hit we've taken now that the huns are dead?

Which one is it? Either we are in rude health or we aren't.

Aside from Denayer we have the option to buy all of our loan signings this year. After the recent failed signings, this can't be anything other than a properly adjusted business approach. The CL exit was a debacle yes, and we left the signings too late, but it was a good transfer window and if the players come good I think we'll be in decent shape to at least make a run for the last 16 next year.

I'm sure we are in decent financial shape but that doesn't mean you don't have to make adjustments due to the current hun-less SPL environment.

Fair enough. I did say the acid test will be in January and the summer. We can't be * about at the last minute trying to scramble deals. If these loan players do well but don't fancy staying or we don't match their wage demands then we are going to be left with players deemed to be not good enough this season, meaning more than significant investment is needed.

He bought himself sometime with that deadline day, * it up again and I don't think it will just be a couple of hundred at the front doors of Celtic Park.

Well well well. Two strikers and a GB section later and I think Lawwell's looking bulletproof again. Guy knows when he can push his luck and when he can't, doesn't he? :smiley-laughing002:
