The weasel was leaving no matter what the Celtic transfer policy was. That is patently clear.

I think you will find I specifically asked if this would be your reply, I take it that was too difficult for you to understand aye ?
So you would have kept a man who had downed tools , thank * the board had the sense you obviously don't have.

How much money does one club need to have in the bank.

£100k a week estimated to be taken off with Rodgers, Davies, Toure and Driscoll leaving.

£9m compo for Brendan and an additional £1m for the other 3. £1m compo for Congerton plus his wage saved.

There is the wage bill reduced by 10% already and that’s without all the high earning old guard leaving in the summer, freeing up another £100k a week!

Are you going to ask me a question then answer it for me in the same post  .who downed tools? the board with so much sense didn't get the players the best manager we have had in years wanted (and they were by no means superstars) then when he got fed up with it allowed him to leave mid season just so they could pick up a compensation fee

As you actually asked "who downed tools" you got the response that deserved. As I said originally - I should have just ignored your whole post given the content only highlighted your lack of understanding regarding what happened with rodgers.

    Not particularly today...

But it is a culmination of things that he should be accountable for....

3 *-poor penny pinching transfer windows.

Hoovering in 10s of millions via player sales , NB deal , player add-ons (PLs contractual acumen accepted) from VVD etc and even 10 mill from a manager exit.... all going one way into the underground vault in the shape of a giant biscuit tin.

Trying to fob fans off with plans for hotels and museums , links to Irish and Polish football clubs etc etc ..,which (while some have appeal) are utterly utterly secondary to development of the club.

On field matters are more important than any business side-venture. That’s the difference between the supporters who invest their hard-earned and the shareholders who are looking for a return.

Lawwell is clearly an astute businessman and certainly brings the cash into the club....

....But football clubs do not prosper if the inward cash flow never gets reinvested in the other direction.

Dermot Desmond needs to get the finger out too... he’s not an employee obviously , but a majority shareholder should be accountable to the the other shareholders (and by consequence the stakeholders) at the very minimum at least if not to the paying supporters.

No point having a ‘sugar daddy’ if he ain’t gonna sprinkle the sugar around when needed.

Most important time in Celtics history since ‘67’

Most crucial business decisions since ‘94’

I just hope we weather both!

You know Rodgers asked to speak to Leicester right?? The board did say no at first and Rodgers asked why when they met the 9m asking price he asked to go down to speak to them ?? He was then offered the chance to see out the season with us and take the job in summer he declined and regarding the transfers he actively tried to punt moussa to English clubs and he spat the dummy because we couldn't match 85k a week for a lb who signed for Valencia so arguably it was only John McGinn he missed out on because we tried to be to smart

Anyone placing their trust in this * is going to be let down badly.

Just another four or five appalling transfer windows and he’ll get his wish of Celtic and Rangers being on a level playing field. Utter scumbag.

We’d still have Ronny, GMS and Carlton Cole if it was up to this *.

Time the fans took control. No more balancing books ffs get the money spent and secure it back by qualifying for the CL year on year.

Dembele fee and snakes fee thats circa 30m get it spent and stop fleecing the fans every season

The only way to achieve this is through fan ownership or part-fan ownership. The aims of a PLC and it's shareholders are the polar opposite of ours as supporters. We're not finding a balance and in my opinion never will under the current structure.

As long as we remain marginally better than domestic opposition then Lawwell and the board will continue to retain a pot of cash that they can skim for themselves.

Their ambitions for the club are mostly off-field vanity projects like the Celtic Way, Hotel, Museum, Light & Sound system. On the park it's a case of how little can we spend.

Well, we've that time again in the cycle of new beginnings.

Where all eyes are watching his every move and all the pressure is squarely and solely on him to make sure the 10 is delivered.

Fans have been vocal in the past and it is boiling up more and more as his tenure at this club continues.

Any misstep he makes now, any error that could see the 10 at risk, will be his end.

I'm sure DD remembers just how much money was leaving the club during Ronnie's days here and in stark contrast, how much things exploded when Rodgers came in.

He won't want that happening again.

    Hopefully.

Was it it a right back who played for Sporting? And do you really see Valencia playing 85k a week for a right back? I don’t. Around 40/50 k a week possibly but nothing close to 85k

I would say we missed out on the right back trying to be smart as well. Lawwell is a * nightmare and wants to get everyone for buttons.

If we don't get 10 in a row I'll be thinking all mental conspiracy theories or something as the only reason behind it.
Because as a club we can only stop ourselves getting there.
