You said deep down I wish they never died. I'm not trying to be big and mature, just having a laugh at your expense! With a name like AwesomeCaz and using made up words like truth-turds isn't exactly making you sound very mature is it?!

But we need them back up just to remind us that we are the goodies, right?

I have to a bit I got a little bit more heated with other posters earlier in this thread defending him, but yours propose no argument whatsoever, only comedy.:50:

You really are talking a lot of *.

In case it slipped your mind we've already had our very own Green's and Whyte's and they very much never done to us what they done to the huns.

Deep down I don't think any single Celtic fan wanted the huns to die, no. We're basically in the perfect position because they legally expired, but there's still a "Rangers" there in a regenerated and incredibly * form, which gives us both bragging rights and footballing and moral superiority. But if they had gone out of existence and never started a newco, if Ibrox was literally vacant right now, our laughter would have died down and you can deny that to me, to huns, to yourself as much as you want I honestly don't care mate but I assure you 100% it is the truth.

What would a good reputation be without a bad reputation? Would we have known Mandela's name, and would he have been a "good" person were it not for apartheid? Would we know Anne Frank if there had been no Nazism? Of course not and you know it so stop burying your head.

Whoosh. Another huge point sails over your head. Pod said the fans are the club, I corrected him, and you've unwittingly proved me right again. Who saved us back in the 90s? Was it all the fans with the groups and fans 4 change movements? Now there's no denying those bhoys played a massive part, but ultimately we all know the single saviour was Fergus.

Now yes, you can argue he was a fan. But what type of a fan?

    Dare I say...

    a...

    Peter

    Lawwell type fan!

There's a lot of romanticism around Celtic but don't let it always get in the way of facts.

The customer base of any business is the business. Hence why I worded it as trotting out a cliche. It is obviously not entirely literal, but you knew that anyway.

Right. Yeah the fans never raised £14 million to help Fergus and the club out.

The fans never backed the board into a corner so they HAD to sell to Fergus.

The Celts for Change never put any of their own money in to stop the club going under before Fergus finally bought the club.

Celts for Change never stood on the steps with Fergus when he finally forced them to hand the club over.

Maybe it's you who needs to do a bit of homework before you start mouthing off about things you no nothing about.

No you * can't 100% assure me OUR laughter would have died down. Speak for yourself because I would be even more delighted if Ibrox was turned into flats. I can 100% sure you that is the truth. You don't speak for every Celtic fan, quite clearly you don't with your views on Lawwell.

Let's bring back Nazism and the apartheid then? To remind us who the goodies are? Do you realise how ridiculous you sound?

Rangers died like Nazism and the Apartheid, the huns remain with their new team Sevco and if they do come back up without getting caught tax dodging before then again, it will be too * soon.

But, and it's the biggest fattest but of all, as you well know football clubs are completely different from any other business in the world. When woolworths went bust, no-one campaigned the government or cried outside the shop entrance. Sure, many people would have lost their jobs and been sad at that, but they could have got new jobs. Celtic fans could not so easily go and get a new team were we to go under, that is the point. We like to think we, the fans, have ultimate power, but alas we do not at all. Some unscrupulous * could buy and kill us within a week and we'd be in just as much a helpless state of depressed shock as the huns were.

The only reason we laughed at the huns is because they weren't killed shockingly, instantly and out of the blue, the signs were there and it had been coming for years, so they deserved what they got for their ineptitude, blind allegiance and sheer lethargy.

I don't need to do any homework whatsoever but you need to improve your comprehension skills. As I said, Fergus ultimately - one man, one very Lawell-like man - held all their cards and all the power. For all the fan money and power, it in the end came down to the actions of just one man. You can deny it or reduce his involvement if you wish but we were literally in his hands.

Not once did I demean the involvement or influence of the fans, just saying we are at the mercy of bigger forces. Lawwell does not currently hold the power that Fergus McCann did, so many of you are either unaware of or are purposely ignoring and denying that.

ANOTHER one who needs to learn to read! Are you being deliberately obtuse or are you genuinely a *? How could you have possibly got that I want nazism back from my post?!? I'm saying, quite logically, that one can only discern what is good, from looking at what is bad. How can you not understand this???
As for Lawwell I'll save you the extreme physical exertion of scrolling back up the page and just post you my quote again so you are hopefully in the clear this time.

"I understand exactly the way he thinks and acts, i'm neither condoning nor condemning him but I understand." So, as you see, I didn't actually post any moral opinion on Lawwell. You incorrectly assumed I did just because I am arguing with you, but i've not once argued against your stance on PL, i've merely been pointing out the inaccuracies and stupidity in your points.

ONCE AGAIN i'll ask, if we kick Lawwell out, then who comes in?
You seriously think he is all that's wrong with the world and that one swift removal will make everything bright in the world?

The actual stupidity is saying things like 'who comes in then if he goes'? Same as you would when we need a new manager? The same ''but who would we get *'' is spouted. That is not our job, we are not trained in finding suitable individuals to run our club. He's on a hefty wage for a CE of 700K a year plus bonuses, so I would imagine it wouldn't be too hard to find a suitable replacement. Others maybe think that because we have had a few poor CE's in the past, we wouldn't get one that can handle the money.

That may very well be but I would rather a CE who defends his clubs own fans than persecutes them, even if that does mean a small dip in financial dealings which would in no way necessarily be the case anyway, a CE with principles and protection of our own fans over greed and money any day of the week. Not one up who collaborates with Strathclydes finest arses to make it as easy as possible for raids on innocents houses in the middle of the night. Not one who will spend as little as possible as long as it means we are completely debt free. We have played the full season so far because he wouldn't spend on a decent striker, and it showed in Europe, not so much the SPL where they can easily get away with it considering we have no real competition.

Not for me. While I don't agree with all his decisions and like others on the field or in the coaches seat in his time at Celtic he has made some bad moves. Not buying Fletcher when he was at Hibernian being one that springs to mind. But for the most part he has done a good job managing our club and like Lennon I hope he stays for some time to come. We are in a very healthy position both on and off the field and Lawwell I feel has played a big part in that.

I've not commented on his footballing achievements (or lack of) so far so here goes.

Without doubt he has made us a successful profitable club that institutional investors will be happy to plough money into because dividends are pretty much guaranteed.

That being said I think most of the success we have had during his tenure has been in spite of him, more to do with the talents of Strachan and Lennon rather than anything Lawwell has done.

I feel the success on the pitch takes a back seat to balancing the books for Lawwell.

Sometimes it's ok to speculate a little Peter. Unlike a run of the mill business you have to take a few calculated risks sometimes and I feel he has baulked at that calculated risk sometimes and probably cost us money in the process.

No, he doesn't. It's well documented he sets the long term business plan, everything else is left to Lawwell.

If Des was not happy with what has been happening, any long term plan would be amended if necessary.

I want him to leave. I never have forgiving him for not splashing cash on Fletcher and handing title to Rangers the year. Peter got lucky with Strachan and him getting us to last 16 twice and swiping out most off our debt. Strachan had work with no money either.

You best start forgiving him then as it wasn't his fault.

Yup, "long term" not the minutiae of running the club day in day out.
