Look at the situation the players were facing against the Mariners though, all the factors combined and it's easy to understand a lacklustre performance. As many have said before, pre-season is just about getting the fitness up, getting sharp and letting fans get a glimpse of the team. You're being very over-dramatic with the whole losing fans because of a * pre-season imo.
What's more important to them is seeing the team perform well in competitive matches, a successful team isn't built on non-competitive matches!
We've had terrible pre-seasons before then still gone on to beat some of Europes big boys, which coincidentally, we never got loads of shots on target but took our chances.
    Calm would ye! :97:

Setanta in Ireland is showing the game, so there should be some streams floating about.

my PR. is way different from yours mate, we have at least 28 players in our squad we could have taken them all to oz and have a kick about among our selfs , and had a display, sold shirts, and merchandise, would have attracted as many fans to watch, and the new fans meeting players, as those guys out there have never met players, or mixed with them our show boating exhibition stuff, far safer that, than getting beat. At times we are scraping the barrel for cash, So new fans we want, you still get match fit, and have a look at what you have got then come back for the Dublin cup.

I think the only real way to get this is through playing matches. The Dublin cup starts when the season is under-way so that might also be too late to look "at what you have got" so they'll need to be tried and tested in matches.
tbh if you genuinely believe what you're saying am dumbfounded but i'll let you have your own opinion!
I just think its a lot more beneficial to play matches than sit and do kick-ups and showboating. You can't honestly tell me that Celtic taking on Perth Glory next would attract less spectators than 28 players showboating? Only the already established fans would go along to see that imo.

we got our * felt, when we where daft enough to take on man u on the tour it ended up they took the fan base from us as they where the victors when we went state side. 2 teams playing against each other looking to get into the first team thats our priority just now i have asked who the * is our main team and still await the answer.

Can I just ask, have you ever actually lived abroad, in one of these far flung places where Celtic rarely have the opportunity to venture to? TBH, some of your perspectives seem to be a little naive. For more than 20 years I lived in Australia, hoping for the day to come that would see the Hoops come down under. Ironically, since I moved to the UK, they have been twice, but that's beside the point.

The point is, there are significant sections of our support throughout the world that rarely see the Bhoys up close. The name of Celtic stretches far beyond mere football fans, but if you are really looking to find a scapegoat for what you percieve as the Hoops diminishing appeal to fans abroad, may I suggest consider that in markets like Australia the EPL is given significantly greater coverage. Indeed, apart from the Glasgow derby & unfortunate scenes like those witnessed at Tynecastle, the SPL gets extremely limited press coverage.

If casual fans see the likes of Liverpool or Man U week in, week out then perhaps this is more likely to sway casual viewers into becoming fans more than what team comes to visit in one-off pre-season friendly.

Why are you asking on here?

Lennon is the manager, and only he can answer that question.

Now, stop being such a baby and listen up.

First game of the season - lost.

Big deal, now stop trying to wind people up:50:

so far glory have won all their pre season games prior to us.

this ain't going to be a walk in the park, just because they finished 10th doesn't mean we'll pump them.

a few on here think they will, but for me i need to see loads of shots on target, not attacks that break down, seen enough of that type of play to know where we stand.
