His first miss was yet another side foot to the right though.. so in truth it wasn't unfortunate. You can't always shoot the same way. It was a decent save by Rab Douglas but he didn't have to guess the right way. He knew which way brown was going. Bottom right.. like always.

    I'm not picky.
You just said in your reply that his first miss was unlucky, though.

Anyway, I'm not gonna argue with that one because, like I say I never saw it so I don't know and I'll need to take your word on it :icon_mrgreen:

I'd personally stick with Brown because all the swapping and changing players all the time to take the penalties probably helped having an effect in our lack of ability to score one. If he misses his next one, THEN I'd like either Mulgrew (someone good at the deadball play) or Hooper to become our regular penalty taker (until they miss two that is :smiley-laughing002:)

EDIT : Actually I DID see the penalty against Dundee and it was a decent save. Rab guessed the right way and it was saved. Not a bad pen - not the best but still not the worst.

the truth comes out in the end, only the observant would have seen this come about, his reputation is diminishing by the minute, take the og as the only plus today, then again, take the og out and its a huff and a puff.

I said it was a bit unlucky. It would have been a decent, unlucky penalty had he not hit his previous 6 or 8 penalties the exact same way.

I'm not sure who we should turn to next. I hope it's not Samaras or Gary Hooper though.

Wanyama for me. I think he's one of the most composed players in our squad plus he has an incredible range of shooting. He could blast it in the top corner just as easily as placing it right into the bottom corner or chipping it down the middle. I'm sure Mulgrew would be good as well but I think Wanyama would be better.

Commons for me. Scored every penalty he'* for us apart from that one against St Johnstone last season, and even then that was probably only because he slipped on his run up. Would happily see him back taking them.

Mulgrew for me, Commons,Hooper,Sammy,Stokesy and broony have had their turn. However i wouldnt be too fussed about Commons taking one as he was having a rotten season when he missed vs St.Johnstone.

A BIT unlucky equates to that he was STILL unlucky. If Rab had guessed the wrong way, then Brown would be getting praised for scoring another penalty, but that's all if's. And he still scored with those previous 6 or 8 penalties though, didn't he.

If he doesn't change his method in taking the penalties, he obviously will get caught onto, because like you said as well, he can't keep putting them to the right, but we shall see what happens and if he goes back to scoring them again, this will more than likely all be forgotten by a lot of people.

Apart from people like Butch that is :icon_mrgreen:

No, no Butch. Don't try and stroke your ego with the mis-placed idea that some great revelation has taken place. Brown was absolutely excellent today apart from the penalty miss and it was clear for all to see that he wouldn't last as our permanent penalty taker given that he gently side-foots it into the same corner every time. He is certainly not a natural penalty taker but he is still one of our most important players, and will remain so.

That's because I didn't leave any such comment. It seemed too obvious.

I voted Miku if he's on the park at the time...would get him off the mark in scoring terms and boost his confidence but i'd be happy with either Hooper or Commons.

am I right in saying that commons hasn't taken a penalty since he missed one when we lost against st johnstone at the beginning of last season? has Forrest ever had a crack at them?

I went for Commons on this ,Always hits a sweet pass so I reckon he would be able to stand up to be able to hit a good pen.

Charlie is up there also but opt for Commons.
