    It's a pet hate of mine when strikers don't step up for penalties. I remember John Terry stepping up in the CL final against Man United when Anelka hadn't even taken yet. What's that all about?

    A striker should be gagging for a chance to hit a ball, unchallenged at point blank. That's what strikers should be 100% all about. If they don't have that confidence and desire then I do worry. Sure there will be 1 or 2 exceptions here or there but it still annoys me.

    Over the last 2 years I would estimate 60% success rate? Can anyone confirm that?
    Exclude the Semi v Dun Utd!
    And I think that the huns are nearer 100% over the same period.When did the huns last miss apenalty?
    Pens make me * myself even Saturday's feeble attempt from McDonald-poor

    Steve Davis missed one mate against Unirea i think :87: at home in the champions league, but i suppose he does not take them often

    its a bad day when you have 4 or 5 attacking players on the park who cant place the ball in the bottom corner from 12 yards.every pen we have missed recently have been nowhere near a corner.onto who i think should take the penalties- def big artur he has never missed yet

    Danny Fox is actually a good shout, gets good power and apparently he's a 'free kick expert' so he should be able to place a ball well, still to see evidence of these free kicks mind you.

    Someone with a cool head who strikes the ball well.

    I'd have a penalty competition in training. Get everone gathered round the edge of the box, get them to shout, go mental & try to put the kicker off. Everyone gets 10 penaties. Whoever gets the highest score gets the job.

    I would say Crosas or Hinkel - other possibilities Caldwell, Fox.

    mcgeady who seems to be the regular or has atleasst taken a few of the last couple a penalties and he is just useless at them imo

    The last few penaltys we have had ! there seems to be "who ever at the time"
    surley they know who the * is going to take it before the match
    the last 3 Mc Geady Robson and madonald
    someone with power and can place the little bag of wind in the back of the net
    would be an ideal shout
    if Fox is our new Specialist why is he not givin a chance?Robson can hit a desecent
    pen too i like left footers maself.so figure it out Tony
