I thought it was a penalty.
tackle from behind and didn't make any contact with the ball.
I don't blame Stokes at all.

Earlier post from "Commons " is disgraceful. No need.

Maybe if it's down to poor finishing, but it wasn't really today. There were a few chances which we should have done better with, but Bell made some world class saves. Stokes. Brown. Wanyama. They couldn't have done any more with those chances, and against most other SPL keepers, and on most days I would suggest against Bell, those go in.

As someone said earlier, he was sure enough to book Stokes.

It was a stonewaller, you can see the way his legs move he was clipped, right foot into left leg then the fall, when running at pace, (despite the fact it wasnt full pelt as he was about to pull the trigger, AFTER fainting the keeper), you tend not to fall until quite a few yards away.

Anyone that doesnt understand this, run full pelt at a wall, get a friend to knock you off balance or clip you at least 10 yards away from the wall and see if you hit it, if you manage to come around, don't say it was me that advised you to try it.

How Gollum can be 100% sure baffles me.

Agreed, if that was Lafferty we would be crucifying him!

Many posts on this thread just make me think of the words "clutching" and "straws"

We got beat fair and square nothing to do with Gollum, more to do with Cameron Bell.

there was some contact but very little, stokes was waiting for a slight brush against his leg, if it had been given it would have been one of the softest penalties ever

    I'm not picky.
For me it was a penalty.

Stokes' right foot gets caught between the defenders thighs and his left foot is clipped.

People say about contact. What is needed for a penalty nowadays? For him to be completely upended or his legs to be completely taken out by a defenders studs-showing sort or tackle?

Every single day we hear about how "minimal contact was made but it was a penalty as "x" put "y" off" in other matches so what is different here? Nothing.

The tackle was put in, defender nowhere near the ball, and took Stokes out.

    * typical aint it - last season Gollum gave Hun FC a pen against us when he wasn't even LOOKING at the incident. Now when his pus is faced in the right direction he STILL * it up!

I keep watching it and watching it and I'm more convinced than ever that it's a penalty.

He shapes as if to shoot, then dummies the keeper and makes him commit himself, he's round the keeper with an empty net to roll the ball into... Why the * would he dive in that situation?

My first reaction was penalty. After seeing the replay from the front I thought dive and then again the replay from behind I thought penalty. Now I can't decide, Stokesy's reaction also made me think penalty.

It's a penalty, no doubt about it. He should have got the shot of earlier but that's irrelevant, we definitely should have been heading into extra time. We would have been playing with 10 because Forrest was * but we were still done yet again.

He didn't make contact with him therefore it wasn't a penalty.
