    Aye.

He scored in European games for Wisla against Nancy, Feyenoord, Basel, Tottenham and Panathinaikos. Also scored in International games against Argentina, Mexico, Czech Republic and Bosnia. 11 goals in 14 games in the Polish "Old Firm" against Legia Warsaw.

Seems like a big game player.

Match against Legia Warsaw is not "Old Firm" because we don't have one biggest match in Poland. We don't have two clubs which were leaders of winners league trophy like it is in Scotland. Wisła won 13 champions, Legia 8 but Ruch Chorzów and Górnik Zabrze won 14 champions both
    Look -> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Polish_football_champions#Statistics

It's true that Wisła and Legia are one of three biggest clubs in Poland now (with Lech Poznań) biggest money, stadiums, best players etc.

For Brożek's old club (Wisła) matches with Cracovia were the most important in season. It's derby of Kraków (Cracow). Fans of western Europe call this matches "Holy War". It's really hot matches! You can count this matches and goals, I sent you his bio.

You know, in Poland Celtic is one of most famous foreign club, because you had Żurawski and Boruc. Now you have Paweł Brożek and Łukasz Załuska, in the summer you will have Jarosław Fojut. I don't know why but Celtic managers maybe likes polish players. :icon_mrgreen:

Can't wait to see Brozek in action. What do you think of him mate? Do you think he is good enough to play for the top clubs in Poland still?

We also used to have Dziekanowski who scored 22 goals in 66 games and Wdowczyk who played 147 games and scored 6 goals.

I know, of course, but I did not think that you remember about them. :50:

Who was the best player? Boruc?

Of course, I think he is good enough to play in top clubs in Poland. But he probably want play only for Wisła Kraków in Poland, because he is pretender to be living legend of Wisła like Maciej Żurawski (for you Magic :86:). Paweł Brożek is one of most scoring players best scorers in Wisła history. But you have know that now polish league is very very defensive and physical league. Here nobody score a lot of goals.

He leaves Poland in 2011 because he want "taste" different league. Turkey league was a mistake for him.

True is that he was best polish striker, he shot a lot of goals. He advised that in all the English clubs without big four of course. He won twice top scorer in polish league and would probably still win. But then unfortunately he was injured in 2009 (video of this injury http://ekstraklasa.tv/ekstraklasa/10,91845,6383528,Olbrzymi_pech_Pawla_Brozka.html look at his knee). And when he returned to health, he has never been so happy and free in the game. Scoring was no longer so easy. He was often disgusted of this situation and he less score. In season 2009/2010 he score only 10 goals (its not good result for him), in first part of season 2010/2011 he score 6 goals and he decided to "taste" other football in Turkey. He go to Trabzonspor with his brother and there he did not get a real chance to play. Now he is more annoyed, because he never had a large foreign career in a foreign leaguea and if had been in Poland he could beat the historical record and become the best scorer in the history of the best Polish Club - Wisła Kraków. But he left the country.

I think that he now is now disappointed and annoyed. He treats Celtic as a known club in Europe and Poland that which he can still collapse in the memory of foreign supporters. He wants to prove to myself that it is suitable for playing in other leagues than polish.

sorry for my very bad english

Well, I'm supporting Celtic for around 10 years now. Not for the reason of Polish players in Celtic (at that time there was no Polish Bhoys in Paradise), but from my own perspective it's always good to see some Poles here. Anyway, I'm amased with ILoveTheCeltic's knowledge. I knew about Dziekanowski and Wdowczyk, but I didn't expect a supporter from Scotland to mention about them first:52:

As for Brozek, comparing him with Sammy is a felony agains Pawel's goalscoring skills.
Brozek has a calm personality, he is a model professional with nerves of steel, clinical finishing and great team work. He has lots of goals and also lots of assists too. He didn't adapt in Turkey but if he adapts here he has potential enough to become one of the best in SPL.

As I have already written, just a year ago he went to Turkey for almost £2m and he went for such a small amount just because he could sign pre-contract and go away for free in the summer.

Can't predict how will he be doing here. Definately diffrent class of a player then Fojut for example. Huge potential. Hope he can find his top form here. Wish him all the best:50:

They are both well known players, I never seen them playing im too young but Dziekanowski once scored 4 goals in a European Match for us against Partizan Belgrade and Wdowczyk was a good player for us for a few years. It think they are both well remembered as not many foreign players played for us then all the foreign players are quite well known Kennaway, Salim, Heron, Edvaldsson, up to those two as it was rare for non Scottish, English or Irish players to play for us.

I think we also had another Scottish player of Polish decent in the 50s or 30s but I cant remember his name he used a nickname as his name. No he wasnt polish was Lithuanian Jonas Kaduskeviechi aka John Jack.

    Welcome to Celtic!

I cannot believe a guy signs for Celtic and pictures of his wedding day and first kiss as a married man appear on a forum mere hours afterwards. Is it just me or does anyone else find that in-*-sane!!??

Slaw Mea Culpa. I'm sorry. So probably Paweł Brożek didn't score against Boruc :)

What do you think? How much goals he should score to stay in Celtic?

ILoveTheCeltic , you should count Paweł Brożek's stats against Cracovia. I said it's most important game for Wisła in year and it's definitelly 100% true. Maybe you want know why, because it's similar to Old Firm Derby. It's religious conflict too but in Kraków Wisła was catholic club, Cracovia is jewish club.

There is some very old, maybe interesting video about Holy War (matches against Wisła and Cracovia) 5:40

He is absolutely able to do that, subject to how will he adapt here.
Also, he needs more than last 10 minutes a game of course:50:

I rate both Stokes and Hooper very highly, but also rate Brozek. About whether Pawel will deserve first team or not - I fully trust Lenny.

Well, I would still argue that Legia vs Wisla is more like OFD then Wisla vs Cracovia. Cracovia is rather poor team and both Wisla and Legia are most popular (with Lech Poznan also) and top clubs in Poland, almost llike Celtic and rangers here (although, in Poland there is less difference between top clubs and others).

Yes, you're right. But I only meant that for fans of Wisla Krakow probably a more important games of the year are the matches against Cracovia. Whoever wins this match, later ruled Krakow. You are from Gdansk so you probably know (Slask, Wiselka, Lechia Gdansk; Trzej Krolowie Wielkich Miast etc.). ;)
