Not official yet, but he's in the papers today talking about his move to us so it's pretty much done.

I can't see Sammy as a regular striker. He just moves along too much. And we can't count on Bangura yet, and he's injuried for a while - so I think Lenny and Lawwell are all happy about to get a favoured target in on a deal that suit Celtic.

James Keatings could be a guy for the future be needs to play regulary so a loan deal could be perfect.

    Good post. :50:

If that's genuinely how Lenny fancies playing it, then I am all for it.

What I don't want to see is the (exciting) Hooper / Stokes partnership being broken up in favour of a simplistic wee-nippy-guy / big-dumptruck philosophy. A real intuitive understanding between strikers is a rare thing. We shouldn't be messing around with that now we've stumbled on it...

Yes. I think if there's one thing this season should have taught everyone, it's that Sammy is a left-sided midfielder. He's been extremely effective there, a revelation.

The fact he can also score goals should be viewed as a bonus, as it is for James Forrest, Joe Ledley etc...

You're right, and I agree. We don't want a big old British style penalty box poacher. We need someone dynamic who can use the ball effectively on the ground and off it.

It just seems pointless to me signing guys in the mold of Stokes/Hooper when it leaves us without options. Bangura isn't as good as either of them, and I doubt this guy will be.

Simple fact is we should have signed Diawara in the summer, not bothered with Bangura and that would have been the end of it. When we got the second bite at the cherry this month we should have taken it. But we didn't. If we end the window with just Brozek I'll be really disappointed, and once again feel like I've been led on by the PLC. What happened to this guy from Spain we were apparently in for at £5M? Was he just a smokescreen so to get the fans onside before we unveil yet another cheap option?

A lot of people talking about missing out on Baba for 2.5 million. Just because he had a big price tag, does not necessarily mean that he would be a success at Celtic as we have seen with players in the past. He could have turned out to be a dud. People are comparing this lads style to Hoopers and if it is then it can only be a good thing. Just because he had an unsuccessful time in Turkey, doesn't mean the lad wont be a success here !! Lets see what he can actually do before writing him off

Many people think he is too similar to stokes/hooper

BUT... their partnership is undoubtedly our best

why can't we have back up in case of injury , suspension, illness
or just a loss of form by one of them

Hope it is true as i like the look of the goal clips,,,he will score goals for us

    and the HUNS missed out

    perfect.

Celtic appear to have beaten rivals Rangers in the race to sign Pawel Brozek after the Polish striker claimed he had agreed a move to Parkhead.
Ibrox boss Ally McCoist had considered making a move for Brozek to join the Scottish champions on loan from Turkish club Trabzonspor.
But Brozek looks set for a move to their Old Firm rivals instead.
He was quoted in the Sunday Mail saying: 'This is a great move and I can't wait to get started.
I have been told plenty about Celtic from my former team-mate Maciej Zurawski and Lukasz Zaluska.'Lukasz will welcome me when I arrive. They have both made me aware of the club's great history, the atmosphere inside the stadium and the passionate supporters.
'Celtic showed more determination than any other club to sign me and now I want to repay their faith.'

I wonder when it's going to be officially announced, after the game maybe?

At least we know it's definitely official now, as they have some actual quotes from him.

I know You Tube clips can make anybody look good but I think this guy will do us a turn. We're getting him on loan so if it doesn't work out then we get shot of him in the Summer. If it works we've got ourslves a player. And secondly, the Huns wanted him and we got him instead. That'll do for me.

Actually looks very tidy in the box, alot of confident, composed finishing in that clip.

Looking forward to seeing the guy in action.

Spot on mate.exactly what I was saying yesterday about not necessarily needing a target man.it wasn't the lack of a target man that cost us the league last year it was shocking defending etc.im happy enough with a guy who seems to know where the goal is.our style under Lenny seems more suited to stooper partnership.i wouldnt want us to change tactics at this crucial time to try fit in a big striker unless he is a top player we just couldn't turn down

Just on SSN 'Deal Close' and they read out quotes from Brozek saying he chose Celtic over anyone else because we showed more determination in getting him and he wants to repay our faith.

Looks like we've signed him. I'll judge him in the hoops, some of the people claiming he's pish, having most probably not watched him apart from the YouTube clip, is quite laughable.

At least we've got a striker in.
