And what happens if we do spend 5-6 million on a player and we dont get to the CL? Spending big doesn't automatically mean a league winner, think Flo and the 12million.

Sure, thats right. But thats why clubs have rich owners, to be able to make those gambles.. We will never know, cus if we dont strenghten we might not even get to the CL again

i agree with you, its rediculous when folk on here write people off just because they have never heard of them and to be honest these unknowns just add more excitement for me nowadays as lenny and his scouting have an amazing record for unearthing jems and our coaching staff seem to be world class so just because they havent ''made it'' before doesnt meen they never will.

We are run as a PLC which means we cant be splashing the cash, which is just aswell because if you look across the city, thats the state we could be in.Ive been more than happy with our transfers so far and this signing is no different.

Fair answer mate, i love the squad we have now, its absolutely fantastic in the SPL.. But i cant stop thinking about FC Sion games and so on, i hope that the signings of free agents all the time will bring us back for european glory. but i highly doubt it, maybe with the best scouts in the world

In fairness the Sion game was a shocker but I think we made up for it with some of our performances in the group stages. This team is still very much a work in progress and will in my opinion get much better.

They want 9 mill, but they wont get it. A bid in the right time would get him for half of that

Apart from the Sion games i thought we faired quite well in the Europa for a young team mate. We'll have a years more experience next time round and hopefully a treble under our belt for a boost of confidence.I think we're getting back to where we were in Europe slowly and thats without spending big money.

That's patently untrue. Four and a half will not buy Rhodes.

aren't the new UEFA rules in place now where we can't spend more than our income? in any case, why does the cheque have to fall at Desmond's door? it's like your boss asking you for your wages so they can buy more stock. i'd tell them to * right off.

look across the city, you want to end up like them? the club is being run brilliantly financially. we can all wish for those top notch signings but we have to operate within our means. we've found top talent in the bargain basement and we'll do it again. have faith in the scouting team.

I'm not saying for one minute we should be throwing £9M at Jordan Rhodes, but Diawara, who we tracked for 6 months signed for Sevilla for £2.5M! Is anyone going to tell me that is now out of our price range? Bangura cost about that, and he was a cheap substitute for Baba in the summer. Now we are back with the bargain basement loan signings. We needed proven talent, and whatever way you paint it, we have been let down as usual.

Typical Celtic, linked with the top scorer in Portugal, a guy at £5M from La Liga, and one of the hottest prospects in the British game, we end up with a six month loan deal for a guy who couldn't cut it at his last club.

Was the same in the summer, and every window since January 2009, and people are supposed to be happy?

So you are saying our current 1st team are all let downs?I think some people just are not happy unless we are spending money.
