Transfermarkt and AiScore have him valued at £3.5m, while FutWiz and FotMob have him at £2.5m. I'm not saying they're the best predictors of actual transfer fees, but around £3m seems right to me.

Transfermarkt rated Kent as £15m and Todd Cantwell at £9m. Yet they have Iwata who has won 5 trophies at Celtic at £1m and Palma who's goal contributions far outweighs theirs (and has more trophies than either) is rated at 4.5m. Their valuations are meaningless.

They are meaningless to some extent but can still give an indication of perceived value.

When 22yo Kent went to Rangers for £8m, £15m for him in a few years probably didn't seem unrealistic. £9m for Cantwell now seems overblown, but he was valued far higher than that when he was at Norwich. They were asking double that of Newcastle in 2022, as mental as that seems.

But to me that valuation of Palma is about right as is Bernardo. Neither make our starting lineup on a good day, let's be real. These aren't superb prospects, they do a job in cover.

Clubs are still looking for an agreement regarding the sharing of the midfielder's transfer fee

After the success with Jota, who was loaned for a year by Benfica, bought the following season for 16 million euros and sold for 30 million, Celtic is looking to repeat the recipe for success now with Paulo Bernardo.

The midfielder was loaned to the Reds and the Scottish club have already begun negotiations to purchase his transfer. To this end, Celtic are willing to pay a fee of around five million euros, and the two clubs are currently discussing how they can divide the transfer rights of the young Portuguese international.

Therefore, it is certain that Benfica will keep part of Paulo Bernardo's pass, who last season played 34 games, scored four goals and made three assists, ending up celebrating winning the title and the Scottish Cup.

They want £6M and we only want to pay £4M, so meet in the middle with a sell on fee should be easy.

We have paid more than 4.2 million for lesser players in my opinion

Await for it to be official, but at least this is positive news in regards recruitment. Albeit, we can all see the dragging of it and slow nature to this.

He shouldn't be the MoR replacement, if he leaves, he literally covers himself. But you know this is going to be the whack of our midfield signings.

Getting Bernardo in with a season of scottish fitba behind him to bed in - you definitely see a different animal this coming season!

Absolutely no reason why he shouldn't be replacing O'Riley (should MoR move on)

Probably will improve but he isn't an O'Riley replacement for me..

His goal involvements for a start tell me he isn't a ready made like for like replacement..

Even if he was viewed as O'Rileys replacement, we still need another Midfielder.

Hatate was vastly hot and cold last season and injury prone. Holm needs loaned out and Iwata isn't good enough.

I do really like the like of Lawal but he'd be competing with McGregor for the CDM role for me, so we need another Box to box.

Sounds like it’s almost there, thankfully.

Never a MOR replacement, in my opinion, but I think we’d regret not signing him.

Mate look at the couple of moments of magic from him last season, from the beautiful strike against the rotten mob to the cup final turn/drive/shot to help us win the match.

We'd be doing far worse than bring this laddie in. Obviously talk of replacing Matt is premature, but Bernardo's a top player, I'm sure of it!
