You don’t come through the benfica academy and make almost 20 appearances for them without having a bit of talent. Would be fair to say he’s not shown a great deal so far but last two games he’s really stepped up, today especially.

The task for him now is to keep it up, with Hatate back it’ll be tough for him to keep his place but that has to be the goal for him. More performances like that last two games and he’ll make himself undroppable.

Great finish and worked very hard but at times he looks very slow, cuntwell left him for dead first half. Still good performance

Keeps his place for Tuesday night, that's for sure.

He starts the next game for me.

Coming on to his game and finding his place in that midfield.

100% would rather him over Turnbull. Although can both play similar and both mean McGregor sits back (as opposed to when we have an on fire Hate), with Bernardo he doesn't slow the game down in the same way Turnbull does.

He's shown more these past few games and the run he's had. If he keeps this up, then the buy option looks better and better.

Starting to show something now. He started the game terribly but he offers more than Turnbull, that's for sure.

Still not sold on him as a permanent transfer, but he's definitely improved in the last few games and that was a great finish today.

I was unsure what he offered to the team for quite a while. He didn't seem to be particularly good at anything. Then I watched the Huddle Breakdown which is a top class podcast by the way- Alan Morrison spoke about his off the ball work and how he presses the game. So I began to watch him off the ball and he is superb, takes up great positions- now he is adding goals he could become a key man. Thought we lost so much when he went off which shows the level of his performance today. He was excellent.

I don't think he'd be a replacement at all - he offers nowhere near the same levels of creativity.

I still think Hatate on form is by far our most creative midfielder even over O'Riley so if he is sold I think we'd have enough creativity in midfield with him, Bernardo and McGregor when played further forward (with Iwata or someone similar behind them). I agree that it'd be seriously difficult to find a like-for-like replacement for O'Riley though.

Maybe judged him too early, he brought a bit more physicality to the middle of the pitch for us and is silky on the ball. He’s a far better option than Turnbull that’s for sure, don’t think he’ll be worth £8M though.

Good enough game today and took his goal really well. I still stick to my original thoughts on this guy 100% - which is that he was an appeasement signing at best. Last day and the Lawell's have someone at Benfica they know probably due to the Jota deal. Lazy as * signing. We need physicality in the midfield - pace, strength and aerial ability. He offers none of these.

Was a certainty to play well today, you just knew it after having a few games to build momentum. I called him scoring aswell but never expected such a bullet. What a * finish, unreal technique!

He isnt the easiest on the eye but he is an effective combative midfielder. Better off the ball than on the ball, hes had a good week but not sure about the £8 mill price tag (dont know if that figure is correct just read it on here)

How much does he cost for us if we want to purchase, I like him. I don't like him £8 million worth though, but he might become much better.

He does have that ability to ride a challenge and still retain the ball. In a physical and defensive activity sense, he is very close to O'Riley. But yeah, haven't seen a defense-splitting pass from Paulo yet.

He reminds me of O'Reilly last year. Solid, but you just know he's going to get better and better.

If he continues to keep out iwata,Odin, Kwon and however many other midfielders then surely the price tag seems more appropriate?

    Pretty sure it's £6m not, 8.

If he has a big 3-4 months we will have to pay it tbh.
