I thought he played Calmac's position really well when he came on. He makes good interceptions.

When he does he doesn't do much..

I'd happily replace him in a second. We could get someone way more influential..

    I'm kinda in this camp.

Just not getting what he offers. Was hoping he'd kick on as he has shown flashes but there are so many total nothing performances from him.

He's quite robust, and uses his body well at times. Reads the game pretty well from a defensive aspect, but he's operating as an 8 for us and his attacking output is the worst of the 5, by a mile.

We could definitely do better. I hope he proves me wrong though and steps up next season.

He is a bit meh to be honest. Said in the other thread I’m still not totally sure what type of midfielder he is, and I don’t.

He's a good player and he does get stuck in which I like. He has suffered this year from injury, and the need to accommodate the £11M Engels in midfield. It's a pity because Bernado has a really good understanding with Idah, and the two link up really well together, and conversely, I think Idah has suffered in some ways, with not having Bernado in the team.

I think we will see some radical changes in the Celtic midfield next year.

Aye he's decent physically. Has a nice touch at times..

There's way more negatives for me though
    One paced
Doesn't impose his game anywhere near enough
Barely gets involved in scoring or assisting

I'm 100% certain we could easily get someone who would contribute more to the team that he does. Hopefully punt in the summer..

Retrain to be the main DM. His physicality is best used there.

Still hope he can kick on.

As said the other day though, for someone with his pedigree he should really be imposing himself more. He has been unlucky in the sense that he hasn't been given a proper run at it though.

Bernardo Engels and McCowan would be a good midfield for the 2 remaining league games. We know enough about Hatate and McGregor.

Find some of the commentary a bit bizarre. He’s been out half the season and only getting back up to speed last few week.

He was ahead of Engels before he got injured (and I’m a fan of Engels) and there were strong arguments he brought more consistency than Hatate (who is pretty awful at least 30-40% of the time). Looking forward to seeing him through next season

Hard to judge on a few 20 odd minuets here and there, mostly when the games have fizzled out.
Right now, reckon he is wort a few starts ahead of Engles

Similar in a way to Engels that hes not really suited to being an 8. Think both would be better suited if we went 4231 and they could sit in a double pivot with McGregor. Would probably benefit McGregor next season too as he gets a year older

    Under your bed.

Surprised by reading all this too, was flying early this season then has had multiple lay-offs since.

He needs a big season next year but he has all the attributes.

I think that is a good suggestion mate. I think @HTG suggested we should change to the 4231 system the other day there too. I remember watching Engel's YT's with FC Augsburg before we signed him, and I thought he looked great as a No.6, but come to think of it, maybe Engels was playing in a double pivot too then. I think it is time we ditched the 4-3-3 myself, because I don't think we have got the best out of our squad this season, and I am thinking of players like Bernado and McCowan, who deserved more game time I feel. Look for instance how far McCowan has fallen off the board here, just to illustrate that very point.

Aye think it would give us better balance in midfield and certainly would be an option with Tierney returning.

I have been wondering if that is part of the future plans for him.

I thonk he might be better suited this this than as an attacking player.

Only reservation is he's not a patch on Calmac at receiving and moving the ball.

Think he plays as deepest of the 3 for Portugal u21s so could be a good option there
