Hard to stay excited about any signing when it takes almost two months to do the deal tbf.

Not even an 8pm announcement. Nobody drags out transfers quite like we do.

Every club's fans has the same kind of folk moaning about their transfer business and how they operate. I checked the Man City forum around the time we played them and they had people complaining about their squad depth and doing the same thing over again.

 

Agree fans are never happy, but I would like us to come close to threatening financial fair play rules like Man City one day!

Personally, I'm neither excited nor disappointed. We could have done a lot worse than Bernardo for £3.4m. We could have done a lot better as well. Value-wise, it seems like a fair deal for both clubs.

 

Only reason it isn’t exciting is because it feels like he’s already ours.

It’ll be great once it’s done though.

 

Looking forward to him being player of the year.

We’ve had them all season ffs. You actually think the most feasible time to get these deals finalised is within days of the start of the season or after the season begins?

We have sat on our * after having two bids rejected for Idah. So yeah, could’ve been done weeks ago. Bernardo has wanted to come here all summer and Benfica have clearly been open to selling. So aye, again, could’ve been done weeks ago.

Instead we’ve spent these weeks haggling over a couple of million despite having over £100 * million in the bank.

But hey ho what would this place be without the happy clappers

To be fair, though, you could argue that one reason we have £100 million in the bank is because we have a board that will definitely haggle over a couple of million.
