I have no idea why we signed him (we have done well to recoup the money that we paid for him), but he has been a consummate professional. Hopefully, he goes on to have a decent career. All the best, Paddy.

Patryk Klimala's move to New York Red Bulls is a done deal after the striker jetted out to complete the switch.

The Polish hitman signed for Celticfrom Jagiellonia Bialystok back in January last year for around £3.5million but failed to nail down a starting spot.

He managed just three goals in 28 appearances and was granted permission to speak with Red Bulls bosses over a transfer.

Herald and Times Sport understands Celtic will recoup their spending fee for the player despite the lack of game time he managed at Parkhead. It is believed the fee received will come to around €4million with add-ons.

The move is yet to be officially announced by either club but it is expected to be confirmed once he completes his medical.

Klimala joins former Hoops kid Cameron Harper who joined the MLS outfit back in March.

Good to receive a similar sum to what we paid, as many have said didn't get a fair opportunity, like many others, but being honest doesn't say a lot that he's heading to MLS so early in his career instead of staying in Europe.

It's his option to play regular football, I'm not going to judge the league, if he does well he will be back quickly.

That will be in the accts to offset the spending this year, think that take us to almost break even in terms of purchases vs sales for this season,

Your probably right, I think it was £12.75m spend that was in the interim accounts. The Frimpong money minus Man City’s cut plus the Elhamed and Kouassi sales would have been about £10.5m so this would show a slight profit in that sense in terms of P/L.

    Such a weird one.

I wish he went to a more likeable MLS team because I want to see him be successful, I liked a lot about him.

I thought there could be a player in there but if you are getting offered slight profit on a player who's barely featured and barely scored and doesn't exactly fit into our style of play, you have to accept it. Fair play to whoever is selling him and I hope we have a decent sell on clause in the contract because if he goes over there and starts scoring regularly, he could be a target for some decent clubs in Europe again. Ultimately, it could be a great deal for all parties involved.

    Balde
    Atajic
    Ciftci
    Fridjonsson
    Diomansy Kamara
    Miku
    Daryl Murphy
    Lassad nouioui
    Rasmussen

I'd you go a little further Into things, he has a goal about every 180 minutes played, plus you have all the other stats that average people don't care so much about like expected goals, opportunities created etc. You have his work rate and attitude to things (look at his transformation from first signing to the start of this season in terms of bulking etc)

You also have his record with the polish U21s which is quite good to add to things and take that into consideration for any kind of value.

It's all about expected gain and potential stuff take any young player without much to go on for stats that goes for crazy money. We bought Eddie for our record transfer of 9 mil after only 11 goals in 29 games

One of the few players that looked like they were bothering their * this season and really should have been given more minutes, best of luck to him.

Good luck to the guy and fair play to whoever managed to make our money back. Was never going to make it here playing against packed defences with his first touch.

Diomansy Kamara was a cracking player and more of a winger/inside forward. Just a shame about his injuries.
