He's past it now ....that boat has sailed a wee while ago....why do so many on here cling to the past .

 

Would take him back in a heartbeat.

Absolutely loved him and can’t believe he’s not went on to do better.

Perfect player for Celtic. Isolated defenders, got fans off their seats, an entertainer.

Played 14 mins football all season lol guy is done been injured most time ..girona trainer got it spot on years ago saying he had knees of a 60 year old .and be lucky to play 90 mins again ..

I don't think he was

At the age of 19/20 he came to us in one of our worst seasons in recent times and got 6 goals and 2 assists in 10 starts.

In the invincible season he got 11 goals and 19 assists in 47 games at the age of 20/21, outshining Forrest for the majority of it.

He often lit up games with his dribbling and creativity too. He wasn't just producing good numbers and lacking in performances like say, Abada this year.

I don't think he's managed to ever fully recover from his injury setbacks afterwards. He is a talent, but something isn't right with him. His career should have been far better than it has been. I think it's down to a mixture of things: lack of professionalism, self belief, confidence, bad injuries, bad moves.

I wouldn't take him back now. But he was a great player for us and I'm quite sad at what's happened to him.

 

I would agree with that. Great memories of his time with us and sad to see how badly his career has gone since he left us but at this point the train has left the station I think in terms of Roberts coming back to Celtic at this point unfortunately.

 

I think it is more of another young players career being wasted down to agents giving poor advice

 

Great player for us and think he would be class if he came back here again.

Players like Roberts are the proverbial ‘luxury players’. They just do not work well at mid-table teams or lower level teams where they have to do most of their work in the defensive and middle thirds.

When he comes to a team like us that completely dominates and he spends 90% of his time in the final third, he absolutely thrives.

His ability to tie defenders in knots when we are playing against teams that camp on their 18 yard line would be very welcome, for me.

 

he had his chance and he blew it, he can join guidetti and Benkovic in the trash pile of going nowhere and accomplished nothing

 

He would break down after one of Anges traning sessions.

 

Think its time to close thread....the guy is finished.

 

Would take him in a flash, watching our one track wingers (outwith Jota who isnt even our player) come up with nowt against a packed defence would offer something different.
