I thought Johansen was excellent today. His passing ability, long and short, is better than any other midfield player we have imo.

The ball for Lustig in the first half when he hooked it blindly into his path was genius.

Johansen is that type of player who creates and scores a lot just through sheer volume of attempts at doing it. Not the type of attacking midfielder who slows down play and tries to pass and move and wait for opening, more pro-active and attempts difficult passes and quick play always trying to go direct for a chance.

Fully agreed, I think the key to us playing so well in the 1st half was Johansen being a bit deeper to pick up the ball and get it moving as well as playing with plenty of width. I hope Rogic gets a lot more game time, his passing ability is superb just like Johansen and Bitton it's a deadly midfield 3.

Why isn't every game in Firhill sold out? It's a game played in Glasgow so I think, Hoops-fans have to invade Firhill!

We went for the jugular right from the off and we never let the Thistle settle.
Rogic was the star man for me today, considering all his past trials and tribulations over the past two years.

I think we got all we could ask of Rogic today a competent display and you could see their is a player in him so hopefully a few cameo appearances when the team are all fit and then a stronger 2nd half of the season when his match sharpness is at a higher level. Delighted he is back because he is a footballer who can see a pass.

for celtic having the whole stand today the atmosphere was no were near as good as it is when we usually have behind the goal, was pretty flat compared to previous games at firhill.

Its a slight problem with our style of play I think though, we give the ball away all the time in the final 3rd by trying to play to quick a pass and looking to score too quick.

I think Ronny wants us playing Real Madrid type football when they had...

    Bale Di Maria Ronaldo
    Benzema

The season they won the Champions League, where they had pace and they sprung forward quick but we don't really have that style of player... Johansen i'd say is a close style to Di Maria in that position and suited to that style of counter attacking or fast breaking football but we don't have the fast goalscoring widemen like Bale and Ronaldo.

GMS and Armstrong, also Commons, Stokes, Forrest and even Rogic are more suited to having more possession and playing more patiently. When they are trying to play more speeded up or 1 touch they lose the ball more often, they just dont really fit into it.

Half 12 Kick off on a Sunday are usually quite tame unless we are giving a team a hammering. Our last few have usually been midweek and late kick offs if I remember correctly which are usually a bit more entertaining.

For that time of day with such a short journey it was very good. Especially first half.

I ve been to fir hill when we had the stand behind goal and the atmosphere wasn't much better

Must be the early kick off maybe lack of drinking spots

When we won the league there a few seasons ago that was bouncing for obvious reasons. All the other games haven't been upto much, just like going St.Mirren as well it's usually just a good few songs.
Weren't many rebs today right enough either except from a guy near me singing 'Glasgow Celtic IRA' 'Regi Blinker IRA' and some random * :smiley-laughing002:
