I know you aren't supposed to park at the Forge, but I have done it once years ago with no problems, and I'm hoping for a relatively quick getaway to the motorway on Sunday. Does anyone else park here- and have you ever got a ticket?

Plenty guys park here, plenty guys get tickets, plenty guys ignore. Don't know if it's different for you guys living in england but up here it's not enforceable.

Never had any issues.

Park at the Forge Shopping Centre all the time. I have not had tickets for years and you just pie them anyway.
The quick getaway can be a problem, it can take an age to get out at times to be honest. -

You only need to pay council parking tickets private parking tickets like in shopping centres, supermarkets etc you can just toss away and nothing will happen. So dont worry about getting a ticket. Fine to park in the Forge for Celtic Park or the Asdas at Hampden and Ibrox.

Thanks. It should still be a quicker getaway than walking back into town to get my car and driving back. The Forge it is then!

i had tickets every other week, but what i do now is just use a bin bag hanging out my boot covering my plate, and once outside the car park put it back in the boot,
only reason i do this now is im fed up getting the letters.
the tickets you get aren't legal in scotland anyway it practically says as much on them,
just bin them im still getting letters about court action the "may" take which they wont as they don't have any legal standing up here. -
Never had a ticket from asda forge but i have at the tesco forge car park. Still getting letters since august. I'm just ignoring them.
Asda should be fine, dont think they have cameras there measuring how long you have stayed. -
Best place to park is down Springfield road towards Ruggy, about half way to Tesco. Loads of street parking and the getaway is really swift if you are going South or East.

Get there early enough and there's plenty places to park since the Forge is a nightmare, especially that time on a Sunday plus all the other folk walking back down the road you'll be waiting ages.

I got a fine after the Aberdeen game, so they do give them out. Also I think it was about a year ago one of these parking companies took someone to court to make an example of them and they won, so there is a tiny possibility you may end up in court.
Edit- That may have been in England though, not sure if it applies to Scotland or not, I just looked it up after I got mine. -

That guy was using McDonalds car park as his own personal parking space and racked up about £4000 worth of tickets over the years.
My wifie is always getting them because she keeps forgetting to put her badge up.......they threaten you with court action before offering a discount and eventually a payment plan. Wipe your * with their parking tickets. :brendy:Cupid Stunt likes this. -

A would park in tollcross then jump on the m77. That wee walk is faster than the car.
