Yes. And you do know attacks 'like this' happen in Israel/Palestine? Are the Israelite's Muslim?

Adding 'like this' is just a cop out. Its just a way of justifying hatred of one type of attack over another.

Anyway. Its all irrelevant. I just wish people would see it for what it is - extremist behaviour by humans against humans.

We can't write off large sections of society based on minorities. Yet we are. Social media is filled with people talking about 'wiping them all out' - what?

I hate religion - all of it, nonsense. But I don't hate people who are religious. Nor should we, regardless of what that religion is.

I certainly wouldnt identify G. Bush with pure Christianity.

What Islamic nations do you mean we're bombing???

The attacks of islamist extremists does not come from desire to revenge but from their particular interpretation of Koran. Check their statements. They turn against secular Western culture, because it is very different from the rules of Islam

The problem comes from religion though it should be the forefront of every argument.

To be honest mate, I wasn't aware that attacks like last night were carried out by people of other faiths, innocent people getting guned down in restaurants and theatres and the attackers getting delt with by the local police, post us up some links to these attacks

RIP to the 128 victims, in amongst all the arguments about religion and faith and the colour of someones skin, we seem to have forgotten that so far 128 innocent people have lost their lives to a senseless act of violence, bordering on pure evil. I personally dont care if they're Muslim or Christian or any other faith, these people are cowards, they've massacred defenceless fellow human beings, without one bit of remorse.
Terrorist, na, prefer to call them cowards hiding behind a gun.

    RIP :shamrock:

The last * thing we should be doing is using these attacks as an argument for anti-religion.

If it wasn't for religion terrorism would happen for another reason.

It's the people that follow these religions, the * scumbags of the earth and who or what they pledge their life and allegiances to. Christianity has killed, Islam has killed, Even Buddhism has killed. Not due to the religion itself, but the people that follow these religions.

Terrorism has no religion. whether you believe in * or gods or you dont, it gives people solace in those situations to pray to something you believe in. When they are mourning it could help them knowing that the world is praying for them.

Condemning religion in a situation like this is * disgusting, I couldn't give a * if you do or don't but bringing it up in a tragedy like this is bang out.

    RIP to the victims :shamrock:

Well the victims were murdered in the name of religion.
Can't believe there are people who think religion is free from any sort of criticism

Just woke up to read the news, can't believe it. Worst atrocity on Western soil since 9/11.

I think we've reached the point of no return now.

If you think I'm saying religion is exempt from criticism then you need to take a break and think about what you're on about. There's a time and a place for debating religion and this is not either.

On one end of the spectrum the people who support one religion murder people in a terrorist attack.

On the other end of the spectrum the people being attacked pray to * for solace in a time of attack and pray for peace and that their loved ones are safe.

So who are you to say all religion is bad? It's the fanatics that are the problem, same goes with any religion.

Exactly. Better and more succinctly put than myself. :50:

It's not religion that's the problem - it is people.

It makes no difference whether you are American, European or middle-eastern, or Muslim, Christian, Buddhist or Jewish. It makes no difference whether you use a suicide vest, an automatic rifle or a high explosive air strike. It makes no difference whether your justification is religious or political. It makes no difference if you wear a uniform or a ski-mask. If you shed the blood of innocent people, you are part of the same problem.

Thoughts with all those affected, we are all one.

Sorry but this is very much the time to discuss religions role in modern society and how its affecting our lives, Its interesting that all the top people in the debating fields intellectual minds right now will be debating Islam and its role people like who i have mentioned Sam Harris neuroscientist Maajid Nawaz a Muslim who himself says there is a problem in Islam Faisal Saeed Al Mutar who has already started criticising Islam today Richards Dawkins and so on my point is made. Its interesting that these people are doing this yet the pseudo liberals in here are not?
