    hasn't the laws of physics proven that even if there is life on other planets they are too far away to have visited i.e. even at light speed or just below it would take hundreds of years to reach earth from anywhere that there could be life.

    "Too far away to visit" but "will take 100's of years". That may only be a small moment of an aliens life for all we know.

    Plus the faster you travel the slower time is.
    Saying that if you did sign up for interstellar travel you'd have to wave goodbye to everything and everyone you know.
    Travelling at the speed of light for 13.5 years is 1001 years back on earth. You're basically travelling through time.
