    Peter Grant too.

Also if ur including Mjallby i'd include Alan Thompson. Always played well in the big games.

Boyd and McNamara deserve a mention too. Maybe not as popular as some other players but great servants to the club.

Since 90's on, McStay, Grant, Larsson, Lambert, Lenny, Sutton, Lubo are the legends for me. BBJ closely behind

A genius, absolute maverick of a footballer.

The only player that could match up to him in terms of sheer entertainment was Lubo, people went to Parkhead every Saturday to see what he would do next.

If he had stayed for a number of seasons he would have become a legend, as it stands he can't even begin to be considered.

Me too KOP, hated his facist ideology, but loved his skill and passion, pity he left when he did, confident our fans could have changed his ideology from facist to socialist thinking. The guy loved the club, he adored our fans, and most importantly he fought for that green and white jersey. Do you all remember how that * Jock Brown, said he traded him for Reggi Stinker (ha ha)

You are spot on here mate, when you say the board, and if you took notice, never at any time did Tommy Burns ridicule or badmouth the guy for doing what he did.

I'd say he's in that second teir of legend. In the top one you have Henrik, Jinky, Billy McNeil, Jock Stein, people of that regard.

In the second one you have the likes of Paolo, Sutton, Nakamura, Hartson, Petrov. Players who will never be forgotten, but aren't religiously worshipped like those in the top tier.

Doesn't rank at all on the list of greats!

Celtic greats are players who stay at the club - not players who leave after one season over 'financial issues'

Good player, enjoyed watching him for the season he was here but nowhere near a great!!!

A very talented player, good balance and a few tricks but could never be considered a legend.

Talented player who after only one season could'nt get out of Celtic quick enough due to a "leetle problem"

Should not be mentioned in the same breath as any Celtic greats.

Would be one of the best old firm goals ever :icon_mrgreen:

Never seen the guy play as I was a young guy at the time but the stories I heard about him he seems to be very remembered amongst the Celtic fans for being a great player but if he had stayed for longer we probably still would of bought Henrik because Wim Jansen was going to buy him anyway. As for the final outcome of the stopping the 10 season. That remains a mystery but we shouldn't dislike a player for his political or religious beliefs because what we sign is footballers.

So you're saying a man who scored around 15 goals for Celtic is in the same tier of a legend who scored over 100?

I'm not trying to sound patronising here, I mean this literally: yes, I really do. I think he made such a big impact, with many memorable moments in a memorable (all be it, eventually unsuccessful) season.

    Cheers mate :50:

    celtic great....ffs :56:

would put him in the same bracket as robbie keane.great for a season(well half in keanes case)

if we're goin by tiers then i would say

top-all the lions, larsson, mcgrory guys like that

second-mcstay,petrov,sutton,bbj,boyd....guys who were good players and servants to the club

    third-cult heros

fourth-guys like him who came and went and left a bit of a mark

Was a great player for celtic, gave his all when he pulled on the jersey, played with passion and scored some stunning goals.

Always remember his Aberdeen goal with his golden boots. class.

Was a bit of a rocket at times though, remember him getting sent of against heats after he had scored a penalty, which you could say cost us the game.

Had great respect for Tommy Burns also. Wish he stayed longer.

I liked Di Canio mostly because thats the season when I became a Celtic fan. However not a Celtic great.
