I'm with The Hand on this, * him he's a scumbag. A character of his ilk would have been more suited to being associated with Scotland's Shame.

Talented player but not even close to being a Celtic great.

Just spent the last 45 minutes reading about left wing football clubs thanks to reading this :icon_mrgreen: Don't agree with his politics, but they are quite prevalent among the ultras in Italian football and growing up as a Lazio fan you kinda understand where he got them from.
Everyone should read his book, there's basically nothing in it about politics that I can remember, he has fond memories of his time here, he loves Tommy Burns and the Peter Grant fish story is funny as *.

One season doesnt make him a legend. If he had stayed , who knows. Very passionate individulal who overcame a bad injury when younger to make it in the game.

If he would have stayed, we probably wouldn't have signed Henrik.

Always thought he was a bit overrated, if he was that good he wouldn't have played for Sheffield Wednesday & West Ham in the peak of his career.

Absolutely nowhere near legendary status at Celtic(or his two cronies!).

I'm afraid it takes more than a season, and more commitment!

An absolute genius!!! the most skilful player i can think of seeing in the hoops in my 30 years lubo included!!! loved him he had charisma and panache the goal against aberdeen with the golden boots and the bumblebee was tremendous and the i break you threat to that orange * ian ferguson in the old firmer were amazing!!
if the board had treated tommy better and kept their word with regards the 3 amigos wage promises then paolo would be up there in the upper echelons of the celtic illuminati!! Forza Paolo

Nowhere near a celtic great. I love the man, and he was pure class but more of a cult hero than anything.

One of the fondest times i look back on with Celtic, is being young, the excitement of moving to the new stadium and that team under Tommy Burns. Remember Rico Annoni as well? Cool *.

On a side point, even if Paolo had stayed 7 seasons, he'd have never got near the level of Larsson

He is may favourite fascist * saluting Celtic player of all time:84:. He was a great player but he was a one season wonder so he could never be called a Celtic great. IMO the most recent Celtic greats were Naka and Artur. They had the combination of very high quality and pretty long (4-5 years) service that is needed to qualify IMO. Before them I would probably include a good few of the Seville team (Mjallby, Lenny, Lambo, Henke, Sutton and BBJ) and before that Paul McStay is the obvious one from the 90s. Lubo is an exception because his stay was relatively short (3 years?).

YouTube - Di Canio and Ian Ferguson

Remember this? Terrible day (1 of the worst ever imo), but i have to laugh lookin back now at Paolo. Would love to have seen him kill that Ferguson *!

Even tho i said he's nowhere near a celtic legend, despite the way he left the club etc, i still look back very fondly on him and would give him a great reception if he was ever back in Celtic Park
