he really changed the game for us today. seemed to widen the park, always looked dangerous on the ball and a nice goal to cap off a great performance.

I agree but was just thinking there, everyone going on about Paddy being able to produce for 90 minutes (including myself) but how many times does McGeady actually produce a good chance or finish himself? Yet he'd be first on most peoples team sheets. McCourt has an excellent end product and I'd love it if he could get fit enough to play 90 minutes.

Had a wee look for you, here's what McCourt said about his back:

Then when I came in I got injured again. I was doing extra work every day trying to catch up but kept breaking down.
"I couldn't get to the bottom of what it was but it turned out to be a nerve in my back. I've been doing a lot of stretching of the nerve and worked hard on my core region.
"There's a sacroiliac joint in your back and mine was in the wrong position.
"It was pulling on the nerve and makes you feel like you've got a torn hamstring, meaning you can't run.
"So I've been working hard on getting my brain to tell the joint it's in the right area and thankfully it's been all right.
"My short-term aim is to stay injury-free because I believe in my own ability. If I do that the rest will look after itself. This is definitely the fittest I have felt at Celtic."

I think he will have a great career as the first off the bench. His ability to beat players is amazing and he has a wonderful finish. Think about his goal rate vs minutes played this year. Through the roof.

He apparently has substantial fitness problems, so I think if he can be happy with subbing he'd make a nice career here and become a fan favorite.

in terms of taking the * out of the opposition i would say , better than mcgeady who kicks the ball 5 or 6 yards and uses pace to get there before the other player. the ball seems to stick to paddy like glue. he can also assist and most importantly FINISH. if he could do that for 90 mins , with mcgeady being priced at 8 million then how much would paddy be worth.:50: get him signed on a long term. he cant be on that much and he loves it here. playing for us , his fitness will come . keeping free from injury he will be giving longer in games.

The best way to improve his fitness is by playing more first team games.I would risk him from the start against the teams lower in the table and bring him on as a super sub against the teams nearer the top.

Paddy obviously has loads of talent, he appears to lack the stamina, I can't understand why after one year at Celtic he appears to no fitter than he was when he arrived from Derry City.

I think it's simply a matter of genetics, mate. Some people just don't have the engine to play 90 minutes of professional football. I know this has been a huge disappointment to all the Celtic management, but I think there is an opportunity here for a truly special squad player if Paddy will agree to it. With his own admittal that his fitness is suspect, I think he might. Would be great to have him in pocket to roll out when you need more attack. We'll see.

surely if he was played in the no 10 position he wouldnt have to do too much trackin back ala bergkamp and would last longer on the pitch before tirying

paddy should come on for samaras in games. he hasn't much defending too do and i would give him free roll to go anywhere. if only tm would use him right way. why diddn't he get game vs morton. he player we all want see giving a chance. but up front be best position for him at mom. he cant defend or track back. so i would take off samaras and give mcCourt a run in samaras spot. let him run bout and see can we get best out off him. he can pass and score or at least make other goalkeeper make a save.

    He should start.

    Regardless of fitness.

Whats that now, 3 start and 5 sub apperances, 3 goals, 3 man of the match perfomances.

Everytime hes started in we've played very well. If he comes on as a supersub too much is expected of him, if he doenst produce the goods then we lose and its on his shoulders. Start him, Start offensive and then if we need to take him of and go more defensive do it.

I agree with you here, don't think either of them do much when they start a game and i think they are better as impact subs! McGinn was very disappointing yesterday whereas McCourt made a big impact when he came on!

McCourt should play from the start for a few games to see if he can cut it. I would play him instead of Aiden for two reasons. McCourt can entertain and score a * good goal. Aidens effort when clean through yesterday and against the shites from the sewers of sodom were, quite frankly, pathetic

he can twist and turn all he likes but the end product just is not good enough for one lauded as Aiden is. From the limited time Paddy has spent on the pitch, he has produced the goods on several occasions (admittedly he has been anonymous in couple of games, but Aiden has had some poor games too)

Paddy deserves his chance. The wee guy McGinn is also worth a place because he can play right back too.
