Shouldnt be remembered any longer than other decent bit-part players we've had in recent memory, Petta, Maloney, Jarosik, Hartley etc.. All of which it could be argued have done it for us in bigger games

No one meant he will be a true legend, but he will go down as a true cult icon a la Bobo, Jackie, Rico Annoni etc.

Had his moments of genius and hasn't really done anything to merit not even getting on the bench when you consider his vital goals and assists. This is particularly true recently where we have sorely lacked creativity and a cutting edge in the final third.

I hope he leaves for his own sake as he should be consistently in the squad and used coming off the bench regularly. I just wonder * is going on behind the scenes with him and Lennon as he's been treated abysmally.

Got a feeling he will end up at a decent Championship or even smaller EPL team and make the manager look like a diddy for letting him go.

And I've got more chance of playing against the huns than him, unless the squad comes down with the plague.

His level of end product deserved more game time in the SPL

In total for us he has played 1549 minutes(17 full matches) of SPL football and scored 9 goals with 6 assists.

Not too much worse than Commons who has 11 goals and 12 assists in the SPL in 1794 minutes(20 full matches)

I will still argue to the death that he should have been given a bit more of a chance. Would love to see him get a run in the team before the season's end, but probably won't.

    No he wasn't.

I expect to see Paddy leave in the summer. Quite sad as he's one of my favourite players to watch, but sadly isn't seen as an essential part of the squad. He'll hopefully get a couple of games before the end of the season.

Good point. At times when we looked stagnant in the first half yesterday, McCourt would have been a good option for creativity.

I love Paddy, really exciting player. He is not, in any way, shape or form a Celtic Legend though.

I would like to see him play a bit against the huns, as long as he doesn't screw anything up. I've seen him do some magnificent tricks and skills, but he just doesn't have the consistency. He'll probably move in the Summer, but I hope we do just get to see a bit more of him.

Hate to see paddy get frozen out. Hes a fantastic impact player managed to get celtic out pf a few tight games with points. I would opt for paddy over ki a million times over. I ll be gutted the day he leaves i feel we re wasting a good player.

If he is a Celtic legend then so is Bobby Petta.

    "Cult icon"... not "Legend"

To the people suggesting he deserves a run in the team - McCourt isn't good enough for a run of starts. It's not the type of player he is - anytime he has been given a couple of starts he has been anonymous after a couple of games. McCourt is a good impact player, particularly when we need a goal and a bit of creativity. He isn't good enough for us though - Commons, Sammy, Brown, Forrest and the likes are a better option on the wing ahead of Paddy.

Would like to see him stay, he's probably not on high wages and fee that club would get from his sale would be small.

On the other hand, it would be shame for his genius to be seen only in pre-season and few cup games. Clearly he's not in Lennon's plans.

He shouldn't waste his best years on the bench. I'd completely understand if he would want to leave this summer, if anything he should've done it sooner.

He could become my fav player of all time if he moved to a swiss side now. :icon_mrgreen:

Joke aside, he's magnificent to watch and it's such a shame it never worked out with him and Celtic.

I would give him more time than Commons. ( who is IMO the more one-dimensional player of the two.)
I would like to see McCourt on the bench and on the pitch more often but it looks like he is not showing enough in training. I will trust Neil ( like I can do anything else:) ) and I hope Paddy stays and gets more chances.

He should not play in the Hoops again had his time .

Loads more players than Paddy deserve the playing time .

Blood the youth and the future of this club soon as the title is wrapped up.

Would love to see him play against the Huns when the leagues won. Don't think him staying at Celtic is fair to him as its blatantly obvious he won't get the game time here. A few more games when the leagues won, then sell him in the summer.

He'll be on really low wages so I dont see the problem. Could actually have saved us more than hes cost too.... who knows what would have happened if he never had the spark to create the goal for Hooper with a few minutes left against Motherwell in November.

If he hadn't done that and we slipped up again and were 14 points behind we might have crumbled again.

We need to drastically cut our wage bill to bring in quality for Europe next season.
Paddy is one of the first on my list for the chop, I'm afraid.
