i'm not up for giving McCourt a game when others deserve to keep their place as their performances merit it. Commons has been injured most of the season. he is coming back to full fitness and looked good coming off the bench, so i hope he's coming back to his best. again, on form, he is by far our best winger.

did i say McGeouch or Ibrahim were better then McCourt? to come to that conclusion, you must be wearing milk bottle thick McCourt specs. i said i'd like to see them get more game time. this would further dwindle chances of seeing McCourt in the hoops. i want those two to progress and they're only going to get that through first team experience.

it's up to debate whether Brown deserves to play. i'm of the opinion that he does deserve - i'm not going to debate it but the manager sees his qualities and plays him because of this.

if Samaras isn't a winger, what is he? a striker that doesn't score? his best performances have been from the wing. i'm not a fan but i fail to see a reason for dropping him.

i don't want him in the team ahead of others as they offer much more - that's why he isn't getting a game.

the more i think about it, the less reasons i can think of keeping him on the books.

the last bit, read my post again and take off your McCourt tinted specs, pal.

i'm willing to give Commons the benefit of the doubt. plagued by injuries this season and his form has fallen victim to this. he was simply outstanding last term and i have no doubt he'll hit that form again.

world class is banded about too often. i've heard a few names on our books labelled as 'world class' on this forum. truth of the matter is, there is no one at Celtic Park in that bracket.

on an basis, McCourt is further down the pecking order than Commons. McCourt is 5th choice at best.

i'm now coming to the conclusion that there isn't really a place now for McCourt here at Celtic. can i see him playing more than 5 times before the end of the season? probably not. would i want him to? i don't know as so many others deserve their spot and it's difficult to fit him in. for that reason, i'd probably be looking to sell him.

    But not Paddy, obviously.

Starting eight games and playing seven from the bench, zero goals and 1 red card and you're more than happy to give Commons the benefit of the doubt on form alone. 15 apps, S8(B7), G0, R1

Paddy has only started two, including the match at Peterhead, where he played that superb assist, and came on 13 times from the bench in cameo roles; zero goals and zero red cards. 15 apps, S2(B13), G0, R0

They've both had absolutely shocking seasons, however to give Commons the nod over McCourt, based purely on recent form alone, a standard which you have set in your previous post, is either a case of favouritism for Commons or a grudge against McCourt.

As I said, and which you have judged harshly, Commons has done absolutely nothing this season but getting sent off, in the 2-0 DEFEAT to Hearts.

Paddy, on the other hand, has done just as much, that is nothing, this season, other than play the pass of the season, setting up a goal in the 3-0 victory over Peterhead.

Commons has been given more starts this season, given chance after chance to prove he's not a half-season wonder but has failed to deliver. Paddy has only been given one, solitary, chance this season and he has taken it.

Commons, despite being brutal this season is the third highest assister in our team.

i'm more than willing to give both players the benefit of the doubt but Commons is higher in the pecking order. if there's a space available on the pitch and Commons and McCourt are competing for it, there's only one winner.

    read bellow...

he's played pretty poorly yet contributed so much and if you read my comments i actually stated his form from last season would make me more inclined to play Commons over McCourt. i have no doubt that Commons will hit his form again. McCourt has never made a real impact in the first team in his whole time at Celtic. super-sub at best. with youngsters now forcing him off the bench and into the stand, where does that leave McCourt?

Paddy also came off the bench and set up a goal this season when Celtic never looked like scoring, not sure but think it may have been against Motherwell. Still more than Commons though who was good, but not outstanding, last season, by the way.

What is with all this "commons has had a * season?" pish? Maybe the first 4/5 games of the season and has been struggling with injuries since. The bhoy's season hasn't even started yet.
What was that game (i think it was st johnstone at home) he played the first 45 mins then got taken off injured at half time? He was excellent as was the whole midfield that 1st half. (2nd half we struggled) The passing, pace, movement and imagination was ridiculous and it was Commons that was running the show that first 45 mins.
The reality is, if either Commons or Paddy get a decent run in the team, then they would both be ripping the SPL a new *....because they are both really * good!

    * sake learn to stand by your team lads!! hail hail

Maybe we could get 12 players on the pitch and play Commons, Paddy and Forrest if we kid on that Forrest is the ball boy!

I feel sorry for the Paddy haters. How cold must their hearts be? We signed him for buttons and pay him peanuts, he never gets a start and yet has provided some of the most entertaining skill since Lubo. A failure? Aye....

When Keats wrote 'a thing of beauty is a joy forever' I never understood what he meant until seeing Paddy score or set up yet another vital late winner.

I know if Blackpool come a-knockin' again, Celtic would prefer a permanent move over a loan move, so ... how much do you suppose he's worth?

I want him gone either this transfer window, or the next ...

We need to shed old skin, and start anew ... continuously replenishing/selling/buying talent.

Agree and I wonder if we'd be extremely lucky to get add-ons?
