Paddy McCourt

Sad to see Paddy go, but he was never able to show the sparks of genius he occasionally had on a consistent basis. Hope he does well wherever his travels take him because he has got ability in him, he just needs to capture it.

 

In response to someone who said "I hate those haggis chaser types".

 

Hope he can find a team that will help him flourish.

 

I hate Paddy McCourt threads, reminds me of everything I hate about the 'modern' Celtic support.

 

In what way?

 

Fuckload of bile aimed at own of our players; a good whack of anti-Irish sentiments which usually gets hit back with anti-Scottish sentiments and people being arseholish in general and spewing hyperbole in both positive and negative directions.

It's like everycunt freaks out and suddenly becomes Hugh Keevins.

 

Where's the anti-irishness?

 

I loved seeing him play. Oh well. Hopefully we'll make some nice additions in the summer. Have to say, I'm not optimistic.

 

That is mostly based on previous discussions to be fair.

He has not been one our best buys and definitely not value for money but good luck in your career paddy

 

Can't argue with any of that.

I always hate when people call him a * footballer...he's clearly not. But he isn't amazing either. The Irish/Scottish thing, I just stay away from, hate getting involved in * like that.

 

Cut4McCourt . Nah its about time he goes hes just deadwood to us bt best of luck to him.

 

Best of luck to him, scored a couple of good goals but that's about it for 5 years, should have sold him when we had the chance.

 

I wish him well wherever he ends up. I'd quite like to see him sign for Hibernian.

 

Good luck to him wherever he goes. He was never Celtic class but hopefully he can slot in somewhere.

 

He may not have suited the team but i don't know why everybody keeps banging on about "Celtic class" as if it was some legendary standard of footballing prowess. From a skill point of view, Paddy is as good as anybody in the SPL and more talented than most. Unfortunately, he has never been consistent enough to nail a regular first team slot.
