Maybe if he wasn't given the Niall McGinn treatment he could shine.

He has been at the club long enough...not in the team by now there is a reason......he is pish....just not good enough.
Oh and the greek guy your thinking off has scored some goals this year that gained the club millions and in short won us some games....paddy has done nothing......even when he was getting game time.

    Precisely.

Sheer idiocy to judge a player that barely, if ever, features.

Why not dig up an old Paddy bashing thread instead of starting a new one?

I know, but at the same time if he barely features, then he doesn't sound like he's good enough to play for us eh?

He was our most used sub last year so he has had the game time

If Brown is "good enough" the be our captain then surely McCourt is good enough to start some games.

I do not see what this thread and outburst has to do with today's results.... poor Paddy the scapegoat as usual.

he cant do anything if he isnt given a chance and he played a lot better that samaras today when he came on and id imagine if given even half the opertunities samaras has had, he prove to be a lot more beneficial to the team

Could say the same about a number of players at the club, Paddy.

It has nothing to do with his performance today it was as i say at the game me and my mate reacted differently to him coming on i'm not using him as a scapegoat i genuinely just wanted to know peoples opinions.

He was OK when he came on today :50:

Absolutely rotten. Not scored or even made an assist in 18 months. If he's not good enough for Northern Ireland he certainly isn't good enough for us. He isn't even as good as he was a couple of years ago, even then he was so average.

Hopefully Blackpool are still interested but I doubt it.

    I guess it's your opinion, then, that he's *?

I'd say he's at least SPL quality, which is what we need in reserve, especially when we're fatigued due to a testing European campaign.

We're not a big spending club, who're we going to replace him with? Some loan signing from La Liga must, of course, be a million times better.

He had something like 28 sub appearances last year. That's ridiculous. You can't assess a player on these 10 minute stints.

I'd be amazed if that were true, and he's not playing for the North because he's not match fit.

    That's exactly what your doing.

It's perfectly acceptable and even recommended to have strong opinions on players but your sense of timing in this case is gash.

McCourt plays well - one of few who did today - and you decide it's an opportune moment to slag him on another thread and then start a thread and a poll to tell everyone how much you dislike him?

    Makes no sense.

See in all honesty, we might all disagree and have such varied opinions on McCourt, but let's be objective. Strachan signed him in 2008, he never got a look in. We saw a bit more of him under Mowbray, but again his appearances were so few and far between. Now under Lennon he has been given a handful of starts in nearly 3 years. Whether we want Paddy to start or not, he won't. Unless Lennon get's the sack tomorrow and a new manager comes in and sees something that all the previous managers never, then McCourt won't feature. The fact is as well, we do have younger, better players who do have a realistic opportunity of progressing onto something big. We can all argue all we want but we know he is never going to be a starter, see if he was 19,20,21 aye.. I'd argue that he has a chance, but the guy is 30 next year, I just think it's too late for him. Personally I'm not a fan of McCourt, I have said it before, if we get a packet of pickled onion Walkers for him in January I'd be delighted.
