I'd love it if he got a game this Sunday, so Lenny would be demonstrating that he will be featuring in some way from now until the end of the season.

True but he's barely got on.He set the bar high last year with his wonder goals though and now he can't win either way, he's not actually a striker, let's not forget.

Neither has Kayal from what I can remember, and McCourt hasn't played anywhere near as many games as him.

You dont really expect Kayal to score though, do you ?
He is a defensive midfielder, where as with Paddy you would expect him to chip in with a few goals like forrest and ledley have.

Kayal is not an attacking midfielder.

If he plays for us for the next 5 years at the level he has been doing, I won't care if he doesn't score again.

McCourt on the other hand does not do any defensive work so if he isn't weighing in with goals and assists he is a man down.

Bit harsh but i take your point. Kayal is the most overrated player at the club imo

All joking and bias aside, if Celtic sew up the lead in excess of what's required and Paddy doesn't get a chance to work his magic on a regular basis then there's clearly a personal issue with Lennon and regardless of what fat * think, it's up to Paddy to a/earn a new contract with Celtic b/ move to the english league c/ move back to Derry

i still think he has a good 5 years left at a high level, something is missing from the Paddy jigsaw, i don't know what it is, only Paddy can explain it, don't want to hear the trite " 3 managers argument" nonsense, i guarantee that Martin would have got the best out of Paddy, he has proved himself as a manager unlike the other 3. If i'm wrong about Paddy, i will hold my hand up but we all know he's not *, something is missing. Hats off to wee Forrest, big Sammy etc, took their chances and delivered but far far less talent there.

I think he should move to the English championship, it is unfair for him that his talent is not being used here.

I say he should move to Boro, Scott McDonald, McManus and Robson are all there, he'd fit in well under Mowbray.

Shame he hasn't been playing much for us.

I love Paddy but I just don't see it working out for him here sadly.

    Quality showing from Paddy tonight.

Once again showing an excellent array of passes from what I can only describe as the "Quarterback" position for the full 90 mins (and took over captaincy).

I wonder if Lennon tinkering with Paddy in this position will be used in away games with one up top - say a Samaras runner type?

Looks great in that position and seems to work a lot harder for the team than when out wide - although still seems a bit defensively-weak.

Hope we see Paddy grace the midfield more this season, although who would the manager drop to accommodate Paddy's passing in there?

I have to agree with you on his passing , just superb.

He just can't defend as good as our other holding midfielders, I would have him in my team just for his passing ability:50:

Magic from him tonight. Would definitely hope Lennon is now considering him for the game against Helsinki.

No, but neither can the likes of Pirlo etc.

I've given Ki enough criticism in the past for his lack of defensive abilities, so I would have to see Paddy produce a decent level of defensiveness if he where to get the nod in that position - although, McCourt's passing looks far superior to Ki's (who I was expecting to fulfill this role).

Great game and a timely reminder that a) he is good enough and b) he is not a performing circus monkey that can only dribble and score wonder goals.

He does track back he's just not a very good tackler. I believe if he got a chance he'd be magnificent. After playing that deep playmaker role for the first time and being the best player on the park he certainly deserves a chance.
