If Paddy isnt even fit enough to last a game in this day and age should he really be playing professional football? Celtic need and deserve better.

This * about Paddys fitness is really starting to irritate me. He has said over and over again hes match fit and to be honest if he wasnt able to last 90 mins Lenny would have sold him in the summer. Yes, he is injury prone but that has nothing to do with fitness or ability to last 90 mins. Paddy is a quality player and if given a deacent run in the team, not just 15 mins here and there, he will show his worth

The statement alone says everything we need to know ......McCourt has said he is Match Fit ...Well of course he is going to say that , he is a professional player and is trying to convince everyone ,lennon included that he is fit ..However the only judges are the fitness coaches and conditioners , they have the final say as to wether he is fit or not ....he is an impact player at best but can we afford to have him in the team to start ?? no is the answer ..

Exactly, except the injurys, he looks fine to me out there. But he never gets game time, so how people can comment on his fitness is beyond me.

Paddy is a impact player for celtic. Its good to have player like this on the bench. He wont do 6 or 7 games, at least because his work rate is not as high as others. But he has the abilty to turn a game in the dying mintues as we seen at the weekend - hence impact player. I'm happy with that and if he gets his chance hope he can have consistancy that we expect.
At Derry got games 90mins when fit but no consistancy but would turn a game with a flash of brill.

McCourt is on for 15 minutes and usually scores, gets an assist or start a move that gets a goal.

Players like Samaras, Brown and Loovens can get a full 90 minutes and do nothing productive or beneficial to the team.

I'd rather have Paddy for 15 minutes.

could it be .............possibly ...paddy cannae cut it for 90 mins :52:
we are a man down after 30 mins (imo) if macourt starts a game :47:
big sammy may be pish 50% of the time but at least he lasts 90 mins :87::87:

When did that happen again? My memory doesn't go back far enough to remember Samaras last goal. :87:

I'd have Pat McCourt in the team any day before that Greek balloon. McCourt might drift in and out of games but he is capable of producing a moment of magic at any given second and deserves to have a run of 4 or 5 consecutive starts to show what he can do.

Samaras has had more than enough chances thrown his way, it's time that McCourt was given those chances.
