Sorry your not accepting the fact 5 times he lost the ball at the start of the game, I have never seen him that poor!
Hammer do you drink alcohol watching a game, if you do will you admit it can literally blur your vision?

Has anyone considered the possibility that he was playing to the managers instruction? Everyone was looking for him. He may have been told that when he gets the ball to just run at defenders. It doesnt come off for any player in the world every time even Messi.Once a game would be suffice if it gets us a goal.It must be tough for the squad to take the field when to a man, every member of the team is getting pelters on here.If you read all the threads we dont actually have a decent player in the squad! 5 games 15 pts 1 goal conceded, with a team of halfwits going by a straw concensus.I'll take that thanks. If we dont play like footballs equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters the crying starts. Some people are simply impossible to please. You know who you are.People seem to expect Paddy to score a wondergoal everytime he gets the ball....have a word with yourselves, this is fantasy.Enjoy the man for what he is. A genius, a maverick and Celtic to the core.:celt_2::shamrock::50:

It's important lenny tell's paddy that every time he get's the ball he dosen't need to beat 3 or 4 men just get him to do the simple thing at times, it can become too predictable, this was a downfall of mccgeady as well, the opposition just double up and invairiably the move breaks down, team player first, genius second.............:50:

Yes, but when it does come off, the ball is in the pokey.

Paddy has scored as many goals as Shaun this season, despite only starting one game.

And I've also seen him play some magnificent through balls for other players, so he's not the one dimensional dribble-merchant that some folk make out.

    Nope didn't touch a drop.

He was no different from any other game he plays for Celtic, you know what you're getting with him. He also never lost the ball 5 times, unless you're including the times the full back knocked it out for a shy or a corner.

Paddy will dribble past players all day, and sometimes he will score wonder goals. Having him on the park allows us so many options, he can see and make a pass as well. If Paddy has the ball and is dribbling in the oppositions half, then guess what? the other team are defending and not threatening our defence. As a great man once said, the best place to defend is in the opposition's half of the park. Paddy and players like him allow us to do this and then he even scores wonder goals that gets everyone out of their seats. I hope he is not injured and gets into the team regularly.

Granted it wasnt paddys best game, but he only lasted 20 mins and in that 20 mins he was beating players ang getting to the by line, it didnt always come off for him but he got us into good positions and got a couple of corners and free kicks.

If he stayed on the park the full game im pretty confident he would either get us a goal or set at least one up :50:

For me Paddy's injurys sum up the lad, so much talent but no balls! Rememeber when he scored and got injured by Maloney *?

Come on now if he gets a heart he will be great, if not a 2 minute wonder. I think that his place in the team is coming off the bench....either when we are 1-0 up and needing that killer goals or chasing a goal.

Come on Paddy prove me wrong.

He was on the pitch for 20 mins.

He didn't do anything spectacular but wasn't poor either. You can't judge "Paddy McCourt" on his performance in the Kilmarnock game IMO.

Judge and jury are still out is what I would say.

Would absolutely love him to be a starter and produce his threat and moments of genius for 90 minutes, but at the moment I just don't see him being able to do that. He obviously has pretty severe conditioning problems, evidenced by the fact that on boht of his SPL starts this season he has hobbled off injured. Hopefully with work, which I'm sure he is doing, he will be able to start games soon enough. I have no doubt Lenny sees the guy is a potential world beater and will be doing everything he can to get him able to play at first team intensity week in week out. If that could happen, the guy would be best creative player and winger in Scotland by a country mile.

Sometimes Paddy is guilty of the McGeady flaw of thinking he has to beat everyone. OK when it works its something special but most of the time its more intelligent to pass. He is not as bad as McGeady for trying to be a one man team (and he is also better at end product) but there is still a trend for him to focus too much on the man right in front of him rather than the big picture. He is certainly less of a team player than Maloney who has a far bettr football brain than McGeady had. Forrest looks to have a decent football brain.

that is true. What you are describing is McGready. Paddy does have the vision to do the odd cracking through ball and clearly has some end product i.e. he can shoot and score. However, I still think he uses that vision sparingly and does not use the players around him as well as he could due to having his head down and focussing too much on beating players like its a personal dual. I would place Paddy somwhere in between McGready's dribbling obssessed style and Maloney's more intelligent team-orientated style.

You really have got to lay off McGeady, there's a reason why he is worth 10 million quid to a team in the Champions League in todays market and Maloney, well, just isn't and never will be

McCourt is completely different in every way as well, Aiden was all flicks and stepovers whereas McCourt is shoulder feints and nutmegs.

Mcgeady is a reasonably strong, reasonably quick, athletic skillful winger, who is not the greatest at shooting, and is not always the best at crossing.

Mccourt is not athletic, has not got a good engine or quick, but has a decent turn of pace over 5-10 yards. He is every bit as skillful as mcgeady, more so than maloney imo, mccourt scores goals and his vision can be top class.

Maloney, is not the quickest, but has a better engine than mccourt, but not as good as mcgeady, he chips in with a few goals and his decicion making is better than mcgeady and mccourt most of the time.

i think if mccourt can get a run of games and sustains an average level of fitness he will be top class. He will never be able to run up and down the park all day but can create chances and score goals, playing in the hole behind the strikers or wide left.
