to be honest, i can only see him as cover for the first team. nothing more. don't think he can play in the middle of the park. so his only positions would be sitting behind the striker(s) or on the wing. i would rather sell him for £750k+ and rely on McGinn or another youngster to cover.

I think he'll take the two yr extension as he is a true Celtic fan plus Lenny doesn't seem to keen on selling him. I want him to stay, definetly entertains.

The reason i would keep him is to be on the bench. Then in the 70th minute of a tough game we bring him on to run at the tired opposition, that's the whole point of having him i'd say.

If Paddy goes then it is an indication from NL that he prefers brawn over brains. Every but every great team needs a player that can open up defences and before anyone says AMcG, does anyone seriously think he has Struan Marshall as his Agent - Agent for Boruc,Gerrard, Carragher, Barry, Downing, Heskey to name but a few - just to get a better deal from Celtic ??

He must be a smoker because his stamina is awful. Yes he never tracks back and is greedy. That's some of his major faults. But you have to love him for what he is good at. I felt McCourt had the better chance of scoring between him and McGowan. McCourt has a lovely strike on him. Just because he lkike sit to feet that does not make him a bad player. Messi also likes it at feet. Yes paddy has woeful stamina and off the ball skills but his dribbling is outstanding most of the time. Too greedy also I agree but last night he passed a lot and shows he is improving his game.

If you have a DM thats their job to win the ball back. Leave Paddy to do what he does best and that's rip defenses apart and score wonder goals. Yes he is lazy but for all you know he could be a heavy smoker just like Prosinecki was. Robert Prosine?ki - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I just think his weak points would cost us more points than his good points would gain over a season.would be happy enough to keep him for impact sub but he def doesn't deserve to be in team

You can only improve by getting games. His stamina has improved, his passing is looking good. He can finish and he can dribble superbly. His off the ball skills and treking back will improve as he gets more games.

A maverick? So he can dribble a ball, he does nothing else. Poor tackler and his passing isnt exactly top class. Hes surplus to requirements and has been a dissapointment considering he was being called 'the new George Best'. 2 years on and he still hasnt broken into the first team. So what hes scored a few great goals? but you have to log onto youtube if you want to see him at his best, not every week on the park.

He has never been given a chance. Wait until he gets a regular game.

all the talk of sending paddy out on loan is nuts...what is the point in that....he's 26 or 27 he's not going to learn anything by going on loan.....

he is the most skillful and creative player in our squad, bar none.......he can light up the SPL if played in the right position.

We shouldnt sell, we should be playing him every week.

If he doesnt last 90 mins I couldnt give a flying *, as long as he has worked while on the field. thats the point of having a squad. He is the most exciting player we have, lets see him play.....and in a celtic shirt

If he goes on loan and does well......then what? is he going to improve by going on loan...or come back the same player except we'll have gone a season without his talents in our side.....

If he goes on loan and does badly/doesnt get a game....then what? we wait for his contract to run out...or sell him for a pittance

Sending him on loan is loose loose

the only possible scenario where sending him on loan is a good thing is he gets loaned to some team with a magic coach who makes him be able to bust a gut for 90mins and still be able to beat 5 men on a run in injury time

Why offer a 26 year old a new contract when, imo, will never get his fitness sorted, never be a 1st team (or team) player? It is beyond me.
Dont get me wrong he has done no bad. Had a few wonder goals. But he has been here 2 years. So in saying that, why doesn't sammy get offered a new contract? Also been here 2 years, done a * site more than Paddy, albeit having more game time. But why does sammy get more/had more game time? Coz he has done more to prove his fitness and more commitment, as little as seems.
And remeber sammy has had injuries too, maybe no as bad as Paddy's but he worked hard to remain in the 1st team. And I'll add, just to not contradict myself, I think Sammy should go also unless he sorts out his consisntecy.

So If Balckpool offered 500k I'd take it, unless by some miracle he could prove that he is consistent and stays injury free.
